This set of 6 morning workshops (over 6 weeks) is designed to allow you the opportunity to explore a wide range of techniques to create beautifully unique fused glass jewellery & decorative objects. After a brief introduction to the historical context and language of fused glass you will be guided through using techniques such as scoring, cutting £0& layering sheet & accessory glass, adding mica or oxide powders to create sparkle and bubbles, use of kiln carving to create subtle textures, using inclusions of wire & precious metal foils and painting or stencilling with 'glassline' paints etc. you will create at least 2 pieces per session and these will be fired and ready to add finishing touches on the subsequent session ( pieces made during the final date will be fired & finished and ready for collection after 7 days) we will mainly focus on jewellery but larger items can be made eg. A step by step digital workshop explaining how to make a ceramic dragon by experienced artist Linda Erliz BA (Hons) of Green Man Ceramics. The workshop will be sent to you by email on receipt of payment or shortly afterwards. If you do not have access to a kiln then you can use air dry clay.
