This set of 6 morning workshops (over 6 weeks) is designed to allow you the opportunity to explore a wide range of techniques to create beautifully unique fused glass jewellery & decorative objects. After a brief introduction to the historical context and language of fused glass you will be guided through using techniques such as scoring, cutting £0& layering sheet & accessory glass, adding mica or oxide powders to create sparkle and bubbles, use of kiln carving to create subtle textures, using inclusions of wire & precious metal foils and painting or stencilling with 'glassline' paints etc.
you will create at least 2 pieces per session and these will be fired and ready to add finishing touches on the subsequent session ( pieces made during the final date will be fired & finished and ready for collection after 7 days) we will mainly focus on jewellery but larger items can be made eg. Coaster, soap or trinket dishes, seasonal decoration, sun catchers, candle holders.

Yes, this is suitable for complete beginners but it would also appeal to those who have done some glass fusing before but who wish to further develop their 'repertoire'
Yes, each student will have use of aprons, safety goggles, masks, gloves etc. Please avoid wearing open toed footwear.
No, the workshop is on the ground floor and easily accessible through the gallery entrance.
The Stratford School of Jewellery is just in front of a multi-storey car park ( tickets machine takes card payment only) the Stratford upon Avon train station is approximately 10 minutes walk and there are plenty of bus stops near by.
