The method &ndash; Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) &ndash; will assist organisations with the analysis and assessment of identified process plant hazards.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">This method can answer key questions like &lsquo;Do we have enough controls?&rsquo; or &lsquo;Are they sufficiently effective?&rsquo; It is often used as a follow-up to a HAZOP study to confirm the qualitative judgement and decisions made by the team. It is considered to be a semi-quantitative technique since it uses &lsquo;order of magnitude&rsquo; estimates of risk reduction of each protection layer and is therefore less time-consuming than using Fully Quantified Risk Analysis (QRA).</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">This 2 full-day course will equip participants with an understanding of how a hazard scenario is defined and its severity is categorized to set a tolerable frequency. The participants will learn to determine how many Independent Protection Layers (IPL) are required to achieve the tolerable frequency, and how to specify an IPL.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">All of these activities are covered by a tutored exercise and group work. Only simple numeracy skills with an understanding of scientific notation, for example, one in a thousand expressed as 1.0E-03, are required. The course materials will include a copy of the presentation slides, comprehensive notes and recommended further reading. His diverse roles have encompassed technology development, conceptual and feasibility studies, supporting owner&rsquo;s teams during front-end engineering and design (FEED) and project development, due diligence, safety engineering, and training. He began his LNG career at British Gas/BG Group (now Shell), contributing to international projects. He then helped develop LNG consultancies, first with Advantica and then GL Noble Denton. More recently, he worked for the Society for Gas as a Marine Fuel shipping NGO. For the past nine years, he has run an independent consultancy focusing on best practices for LNG (as well as hydrogen and ammonia) marine applications. Your expert instructor is an experienced process engineer with over 35 years in the gas and energy sectors, focusing on liquefied natural gas (LNG) for the past 27 years. His diverse roles have encompassed technology development, conceptual and feasibility studies, supporting owner’s teams during front-end engineering and design (FEED) and project development, due diligence, safety engineering, and training. He began his LNG career at British Gas/BG Group (now Shell), contributing to international projects. He then helped develop LNG consultancies, first with Advantica and then GL Noble Denton. More recently, he worked for the Society for Gas as a Marine Fuel shipping NGO. For the past nine years, he has run an independent consultancy focusing on best practices for LNG (as well as hydrogen and ammonia) marine applications. Your expert instructor has also supported floating LNG liquefaction and regasification initiatives. About this Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT)
This 5 half-day Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) course covers carbon capture and geological storage of carbon dioxide. Burning fossil fuels for energy is a major source of carbon dioxide emissions to the atmosphere. Most anthropogenic (man-made) carbon dioxide is emitted by coal-fired or gas-fired power plants, and significant quantities of carbon dioxide are emitted through the production and separation of carbon dioxide-rich natural gas and industries such as cement, iron and steel. Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage, or CCUS, involves the long-term storage of captured carbon dioxide emissions in subsurface geologic formations.
This VILT course covers all aspects of CCUS including transport, storage and monitoring, economics and community engagement. It explores in detail the challenges of the current technology of geological storage, monitoring and verification including examples from working projects around the world. Many of these technologies are commonly employed by the petroleum industry. Successful deployment of CCUS will also require economic incentives, appropriate regulation, clarity on liability issues and acceptance by the community. These aspects of CCUS, and the corresponding opportunities for appropriately skilled organisations and individuals also will be discussed.

This Vaccination / Injection Course is a nurse or paramedic-led half-day session covering all essential theory and practical skill-sets required to deliver effective Intramuscular, Intradermal and Subcutaneous injections / vaccinations.
 
PART 1 - THEORY (online)

CLASSROOM OPTION - Complete your theory training online at home or work, then attend one of our scheduled classroom locations, completing your Peripheral IV Cannulation Course and your Injection Course on the same day.
Our Peripheral IV Cannulation Course and Injection Course training kits are supplied at no charge when booking our virtual classroom training option.
If you would like to add one or both of these kits to your classroom training option then these are available for you to add at time of booking. Training kits mirror the same equipment and supplies used in the classroom and both include detailed video instructions, allowing you to continue to practice and "hone" your skills after you have completed your practical training.

OR -

VIRTUAL CLASSROOM OPTION- Complete your theory training online at home or work, then join us for your one full day to complete your cannulation and injection course training.

Our Virtual Classroom option includes two very comprehensive training kits - one for your cannulation course and one for your injection course. Kits are included at no charge (normally £79.95 and £39.95 respectively) and are yours to keep and to continue to practice with after you have finished your courses. The equipment and supplies included in your kits are the same as those used if you choose the classroom option.
