Did you know that following a cardiac arrest, every minute without CPR and defibrillation reduces a casualty’s chance of survival by 10%?  Sudden cardiac arrest is one the UK’s biggest killers, and yet statistics show that most of the British public are unaware of the life-saving difference they can make by performing CPR and defibrillation.  The QA Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification that has been specifically designed to provide candidates with the knowledge and skills needed to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and use an AED safely in emergency situations.  With an estimated 60,000 out of hospital cardiac arrests occurring every year in the UK alone, make sure you are prepared!

Did you know that 30.7 million working days were lost due to work-related illnesses and workplace injury in 2017/18?  It is an employer’s duty to protect the health, safety and welfare of their employees and other people who might be affected by their business. This includes providing sufficient information, instruction and training to employees to allow them to work in a way that does not put themselves or others at risk.  The QA Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace (RQF) has been specifically designed to provide candidates with a basic introduction to workplace health and safety. It is suitable for all employees working in a range of environments, as well as employees returning to work or entering work for the first time.  With all subjects covered in just 4 hours, this regulated and nationally recognised qualification is ideal for providing employees with a basic understanding of workplace health and safety whilst helping employers to fulfil their legal duties.

Treraven farm sits on the outskirts of Wadebridge in North Cornwall, it has stunning far reaching views of Roughtor, Bodmin Moor and the Camel estuary towards Padstow. There are 170 acres of meadow and woodland. For the past 3 years I've been opening up ancient routes through the woodland so that people can gain the benefit of being surrounded by these wonderful trees. Within the 2 hour session I'll take you though this magical woodland to a place where we can rest and become grounded, we'll spend time in the company of 300 year old beech trees where I can give you some simple techniques to clear your mind, relax and listen to nature. Treraven farm is owned by the environmental charity called The Gaia Trust, I'll tell you of the work we are doing to keep the woodland healthy...but I won't get preachy! You'll need to able to walk for 3miles over uneven ground, there are shorter routes if you need them. This is a perfect way to relax and engage with nature and your own mindfullness.

It covers: What mental health is and how to challenge stigma Stress Spotting signs of distress An introduction to looking after your own mental health and maintaining wellbeing Confidence to support someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue

Silver stacking rings taster session for complete beginners A few hours to have a brief introduction to silver Jewellery techniques. Learn to use basic tools and techniques and go home with a ring stack! The ticket price includes the costs of precious materials. Join us to create THREE gorgeous Sterling Silver stacking rings . You will create THREE rings in your choice of FIVE designs. Price includes all materials and instruction. This also includes light refreshments. About the workshop Make your own stunning sterling silver stacking rings - choice of different designs. There are also different texture and forming tools to choose from, to make your stack unique to you. We cover a range of silversmithing techniques in this workshop so it really is a great introduction to working with silver. Who is it for? Beginners onwards. Please note that a good level of dexterity and eyesight is required. Over 16s with accompanying adult. What will I learn? You'll learn the basics of jewellery making including annealing, sawing, filing, soldering, shaping and forming, texturing and polishing. What's included? We provide all the equipment and materials you will need including the sterling silver to make your rings. Tea, coffee and cake are also included on the day. What shall I bring? Reading glasses if you use them. Also to keep you safe it's best to wear closed toed shoes, tie long hair back and avoid loose flappy clothes.
