Struggling to perfect your latte art? Our comprehensive 3-hour masterclass will teach you all about texturing milk, pouring patterns and achieving beautiful latte art. The course is a hands-on, practical experience where you will work alongside Benny, an experienced speciality coffee barista, to learn all about latte art and up your game. You'll learn the theory and tips behind getting perfectly-textured milk, watch demonstrations and then use our top-quality equipment to have plenty of goes yourself at pouring patterns, with constant feedback and guidance. We also specifically cater towards non-dairy milk drinkers too, so please let us know in advance whether you would like to learn with oat milk or dairy by entering it in your booking notes. I am a professional artist and was a heat semi-finalist in Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year competition, I have exhibited with the Royal Society of British Artists and Royal Society of Marine Artist Mall Galleries, London. Wednesday workshops are located at my home studio. You have a choice of working in acrylics and/or mixed media, soft pastels or linocut printing. Subjects include: landscapes, still life, abstract, portraits, etc. The workshops are fun, relaxing and informative. I also hold a Saturday Art Workshops advertised on Craft Courses! I have a relaxed and informative approach to working with acrylics and mixed media and other techniques. I was a professional muralist for 11 years, specialising in trompe l'oeil (trick of the eye) techniques.  Although photo realism painting in acrylics was essential in creating a painting illusion, I have also worked more recently with impasto and mixed media using acrylics which is an enjoyable and liberating experience. Krista will guide you through the process of tube setting where you will be using the Foredom Pendant Motor to cut a seat for your facetted brilliant cut stone. From here you can design and make your pendant or ring, solder your setting in place and then learn the techniques to set your stone. This is a full day intensive workshop which will teach you the processes involved in photo etching, including preparing the metal for etching, transferring the designs onto the metal using press and peel (P&P) paper and how to use specific etching solutions to cut the designs into the metal. This course will allow you to broaden your design process so that you can add some intricate textures to your copper and silver jewellery designs. You will be provided with a set amount of materials including copper sheet to practice the process and a 4cm by 4cm piece of silver sheet to create a silver textured pendant during your session. During this two-day workshop, you will learn how to tell a compelling story via photographs. Participants will gain the tools for conceiving of and crafting their own projects, with pointers on how to find ideas, develop your vision, and self-edit. We will cover a broad range of themes, including subject interaction, ethical dimensions, natural light usage and composition. There will also be practical guidance on financing projects, and where to place finished work.Between the two sessions there will be an assignment, intended to provide a practical application of newly acquired skills – this will be reviewed in our second meeting.This workshop is perfect for those with a good understanding of digital photography, seeking to hone their storytelling abilities and push the boundaries of documentary photography.Day 1:– Introduction to photographic storytelling.– Case study of Michael’s work in relation to the practicalities involved with funding, organising and producing a documentary project.– Discussion on the work of inspirational photographers, film makers, and artists.– Consideration of the ethical challenges encountered when producing documentary photography.– Introduction of practical task, and review of images.There will be a practical assignment to be carried out before the 2nd session.Day 2:– Photo story workshop and discussion on style.– Editing: how to select the right pictures to suit narrative objectives.– How to work within time constraints.– Practical task– Portfolio review of work produced during the workshop.– Presentation on opportunities, competitions, and publishing documentary photography projects.   Courses are subject to minimum enrolment.
