In this workshop, you'll learn how to make rings, filigree, and mirror-polished pieces with advanced techniques. You'll leave with a set of quality products that will show your true talent as an artist. And best of all? You'll be able to use these skills on more complex projects later on!

This set of 6 morning workshops (over 6 weeks) is designed to allow you the opportunity to explore a wide range of techniques to create beautifully unique fused glass jewellery & decorative objects. After a brief introduction to the historical context and language of fused glass you will be guided through using techniques such as scoring, cutting £0& layering sheet & accessory glass, adding mica or oxide powders to create sparkle and bubbles, use of kiln carving to create subtle textures, using inclusions of wire & precious metal foils and painting or stencilling with 'glassline' paints etc. you will create at least 2 pieces per session and these will be fired and ready to add finishing touches on the subsequent session ( pieces made during the final date will be fired & finished and ready for collection after 7 days) we will mainly focus on jewellery but larger items can be made eg. This ARM assembly programming course will help you gain a solid understanding of bare-metal firmware development for ARM-based microcontrollers. This one day silver bangle making course lead by jeweller Kirsten Hendrich will introduce you skills and techniques required to design and make your own silver sterling bangles. You will learn how to size bangles, how to solder, texture the metal, cut out a charm, and also polish your designs. You will be provided with all the silver required to make two stacking bangles and a charm to accompany them. This is an excellent starting project for a beginner. For those with more experience, it is an opportunity to develop your skills further. WHAT TO BRING: For safety reasons, at each session closed in shoes must be worn and long hair tied back, we also suggest wearing old clothes. We will provide light refreshments however you might want to bring some lunch. We have a fridge, microwave and kettle in the workshop.
