Overview
This course is aimed at candidates that require the knowledge and practical skills to operate mobile elevating work platforms (scissor lifts) safely and efficiently while carrying out work at heights.
Course Content
Candidates will be able to:
Understanding the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as a plant operator
Understand the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used, and be familiar with other types of information sources and relevant legislation
Locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions
Locate and identify steering, driving and braking controls and explain their functions
Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements
Check all emergency lowering functions
Safely mount and dismount the machine
Configure the machine for travel
Configure the machine for travel and manoeuvre it safely on level ground and inclines in open and confined areas
Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area, including overhead and underground hazards
Manoeuvre the machine to the work area and correctly configure in readiness to carry out accessing tasks
Carry out accessing tasks, at various points up to full operating height
Travel with platform raised (where applicable)
Use platform extension section
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of loading and unloading procedures for machine transportation
Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures

NPORS CSCS – Candidates must have achieved the relevant CITB Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) touch-screen-test within 2 years.

To be eligible to sit your first exam, you have to complete your electronic Record of Experience (eROE). The eROE has to be submitted to your tutor by 31st Jan for March exam, and 31st August for November exam.

How do I attend?

EITHER -
CLASSROOM OPTION - Attend one of our scheduled classroom locations, completing your Introduction to Phlebotomy Course over 2 days. You will also complete your Advanced Training at the end of the first day and your Competency Training at the end of the second day.

Our Introduction to Phlebotomy and Advanced Phlebotomy Training Kits are supplied at no charge when booking our virtual classroom training option.
If you would like to add one or both of these kits to your classroom training option then these are available to add at time of booking. Our comprehensive training kits each mirror the same equipment and supplies used in the classroom and both include detailed video tutorials, allowing you to continue to practice and "hone" your skills after you have completed your practical training.

VIRTUAL CLASSROOM OPTION- Complete your theory training online at home or work, then join us for a one day Zoom session to complete your Introduction to Phlebotomy virtual classroom training, followed by your Advanced Training in the evening of the same day. Our Virtual Classroom option includes two very comprehensive training kits - one for your introductory course and one for your advanced course. He is a spiritual director, vocations advisor and retreat conductor. Ray is based in Spain and is a tutor on the Sarum Course in Spiritual Direction.</p>

In the western world, we have been taught to favour logic and reason over the experiential ways of Wisdom. This poetic movement, evolving through energy within our bodies, is a flow and breath, bringing health and a way forward through our difficult paths. Personified as female in ancient sacred writings, Hokhmah in the Hebrew scriptures, and Sophia in the Greek, she is steeped in everyday experience and ordinary life, emerging through connecting to our senses, our emotions and spirituality. 

During this on-line space Helen will bring to life Holy Wisdom and ways to listen and encourage her intuitive ways. There will be ideas to open to our own ‘deep-body knowing’ and to experience this connection to divine Wisdom. Space will be given for individual reflection time, group discussion and questions.

Helen Warwick is a Chaplain and Creative Therapist within the Community of Holy Rood House, Centre for Health and Pastoral Care, in Thirsk, North Yorkshire. Her work includes leading creative retreats and groups, working with people individually and supervision for pastoral workers. She is a trained Occupational Therapist and Spiritual Director with specialism in mental health, creativity, low energy, bereavement and trauma.
