Using a pre-loved book as your starting point, Panna will show you options for covering your book, and teach you how to make the right folds in the right places to create a personalised folded book Christmas tree. 
You will then complete your design with a bauble on the top, and fairy lights.
Your handmade Christmas tree decoration will last you for years to come, or could be given as a gift.

Our taster and introductory workshops focus on teaching creative skills and methods you can continue practising at home, using affordable materials and equipment. Where more expensive equipment is required we will mention this in the workshop description.
All the equipment and materials you need are included in the price, unless stated otherwise. 
Light refreshments from local suppliers are provided. On full day workshops you are welcome to bring your own lunch to eat inside or out. There is also a wide range of independent sit-in or takeaway delis, cafés, and restaurants, plus a range of supermarkets all within a 5-10 minute walk.
Accessibility
The workshop space is on the first-floor of our Georgian mews home and unfortunately we do not have lift access. Blue badge holders can park outside our front door on the single yellow line by arrangement.

Minimum number no refund policy
To ensure we can always pay our creatives a fair fee, we require a minimum number of bookings for each workshop and for this reason bookings are non-refundable. Should we have to cancel due to low numbers, we will offer you the option to swap to an alternative date or workshop, or to request a refund.
We do our very best to avoid cancellations. Since we often get late bookings, we keep our workshops on sale for as long as possible. <p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">On this silver clay jewellery taster workshop, you will create a pendant and/or pair of earrings from hallmark-quality silver with specialist, Edinburgh-based jeweller Anna Campbell.&nbsp;<br fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">&nbsp;<br fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">You will learn how to make jewellery out of a material called silver clay, which is made up of recycled silver particles, an organic binder and water. Silver clay requires with very little equipment so it&#39;s perfect for those wanting to learn a new skill they can easily do at home.<br fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">&nbsp;<br fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">You will be taken through all the steps to create your own piece ready for firing. The dried clay is fired with a butane torch to form it into silver (but a cr&egrave;me brul&eacute; torch will do the trick!). You&rsquo;ll then polish your silver jewellery ready to take home.<br fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">&nbsp;<br fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">This taster class is perfect for giving you an idea of the possibilities of this unique material. Master the art of soldering: a jewellery workshop for metal clay artists
Designed for jewellery makers who work with metal clay but haven’t yet ventured into soldering, this full-day workshop is the perfect next step in advancing your skills. 
Originally created by your tutor Anna Campbell, one of the leading metal clay teachers in the UK, for the London Jewellery School, this intermediate course was developed in response to student requests for a follow-up to beginners’ silver clay class, offering a deeper dive into traditional jewellery-making techniques.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the essential skill of soldering, enabling you to expand your creative possibilities by crafting different types of jewellery, including stud earrings, cufflinks, and pendants. Whether you’re looking to start selling your jewellery, or simply want to create high-quality pieces for yourself or as gifts, this course is tailored to help you achieve your goals.
What you'll learn and create
Design and create with silver clay
As a refresher, we’ll start by designing and crafting stud earrings, cufflinks, and a pendant using silver clay, reminding you of the techniques you’ve already learned (don’t worry if it’s been a while, we’ll cover it step-by-step). 
Soldering techniques
The majority of the day will focus on mastering the art of soldering, where you’ll learn:
How to solder earring posts onto your designs to create studs;
How to solder cufflink backs to your silver clay pieces;
How to solder a jump ring onto a pendant, eliminating the need to drill a hole.
Plus many more tips, including how to make your own pickle (for cleaning metal).
Comprehensive learning experience
We’ll cover two types of soldering, explore the equipment and materials required (which isn’t much more than what you already use for silver clay), and troubleshoot common challenges. You’ll have plenty of supervised practice, and by the end of the day, you’ll feel confident in your ability to solder and take your jewellery-making to the next level - even from home!
What’s included
The cost of the course includes materials worth over £30, such as 10g of silver clay, sterling silver cufflink backs, a pair of stud earrings, and butterflies - everything you need to complete the class. 
This workshop is ideal for anyone who has completed a beginner’s silver clay course or has experience working with metal clay and is ready to advance their skills in the art of jewellery-making.

<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">On this one-day Introduction to silver clay jewellery making workshop - suitable for beginners or those that have attended our silver jewellery taster workshop and wish to develop their skills - you will create three different pieces of jewellery.<br fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">&nbsp;<br fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">Using silver clay, a material made up of recycled silver particles, an organic binder and water that can easily be used at home with little need for equipment, your expert tutor, Edinburgh-based jeweller Anna Campbell, will take you through all the steps needed to create your own pieces ready for firing. The dried clay is fired with a butane torch to form it into silver (at home a cr&egrave;me brul&eacute; torch will also do the job). Discover the art of silver clay: a one day beginner’s workshop with 3 creative projects.
Step into the world of jewellery making with this hands-on beginner-friendly workshop, where you’ll create three unique pieces of silver jewellery from scratch!
Over the course of this workshop day, you’ll explore the versatility of silver clay and handmake three stunning projects, each designed to teach you essential skills while sparking your creativity.
What is silver metal clay?
Silver clay is a material manufactured from 100% recycled silver, a plant-based organic binder and water. The silver is recycled from X-rays, the photographic industry, electronics, and the like. You don’t need a lot of tools and equipment to get started and all pieces made on this workshop can be fired with a creme brule torch.
Here’s what you’ll learn and create on this workshop:
Design and craft a pair of earrings (or pendant/charm). Start your journey by designing and crafting a personalized pair of earrings. Don’t have pierced ears? No problem! You can choose to make a beautiful pendant or a bracelet charm instead. Learn how to work with silver clay, texture and shape your pieces and what is possible with this material. 
Make your own custom silicone mould and silver clay charm. Discover the magic of mould-making as you create your very own silicone mould from any object of your choice. You can bring small items of your own e.g. buttons, charms, shells etc or choose from the large selection we have for you! You’ll then use this mould to create a unique silver clay charm, adding a truly personal touch to your jewellery. This technique opens up endless possibilities for future designs.
Craft a gorgeous stone-set pendant. Add a touch of elegance to your jewellery with a stone setting. In this project, you’ll design a stunning pendant and learn how to set a fireable gemstone into silver clay, adding a touch of colour to your design. You will also learn more about which gemstones can be set in silver clay. 
Throughout the workshop, you’ll be guided step-by-step by Anna Campbell, one of the leading metal clay teachers in the UK, making this a fun and accessible class for complete beginners. You’ll leave with three pieces of handmade jewellery, new skills, and a strong foundation in working with silver clay.
Whether you’re looking to try a new hobby, make gifts or you have an eye on starting a jewellery business, this class is the perfect introduction to the exciting world of silver clay jewellery.

The Arienas Collective workshops, courses and events are run from a welcoming and supportive environment within a Georgian mews home in Edinburgh’s City Centre New Town. We invite you to join us, leave any day-to-day worries behind and immerse yourself in being creative.
Spaces on our workshops and courses are limited so that our creative team of artists and makers can offer you the hands-on help and support you need to make the most of your time with us. 
Our taster and introductory workshops focus on teaching creative skills and methods you can continue practising at home, using affordable materials and equipment. Where more expensive equipment is required we will mention this in the workshop description.
All the equipment and materials you need are included in the price, unless stated otherwise. 
Light refreshments from local suppliers are provided. On full day workshops you are welcome to bring your own lunch to eat inside or out. There is also a wide range of independent sit-in or takeaway delis, cafés, and restaurants, plus a range of supermarkets all within a 5-10 minute walk.
Accessibility
The workshop space is on the first-floor of our Georgian mews home and unfortunately we do not have lift access. Blue badge holders can park outside our front door on the single yellow line by arrangement.
Allergies
The workshop space is in our open plan living space and is not nut free. Please let us know about any skin or food allergies before booking. We offer a dairy-free milk and gluten free snack alternative.
Minimum number no refund policy
To ensure we can always pay our creatives a fair fee, we require a minimum number of bookings for each workshop and for this reason bookings are non-refundable. Should we have to cancel due to low numbers, we will offer you the option to swap to an alternative date or workshop, or to request a refund.
We do our very best to avoid cancellations. Since we often get late bookings, we keep our workshops on sale for as long as possible. We realise that some of you travel from afar, so if you book a space and have not yet received an email confirming your workshop is going ahead and need to make plans for your trip, please get in touch before booking any travel or accommodation so we can update you on booking numbers. Or check in before booking.
Private workshop bookings

On this Introduction to lino printing onto fabric workshop, local artist Suzanne Kemplay will help you explore ways of creating simple images and striking patterns from which you will print your own, unique tote bag or tea towel.
This is a hands-on, practical and fun workshop where you will learn how to create an original design, cut your design onto lino, add ink, and print onto fabric. You will gain the confidence you need to create beautiful prints at home without the need for expensive equipment. You can bring your own fabric, or plain t-shirt to the workshop if you wish.
The price includes access to all the equipment and materials you will need.

Spaces on our workshops and courses are limited so that our creative team of artists and makers can offer you the hands-on help and support you need to make the most of your time with us. 
Our taster and introductory workshops focus on teaching creative skills and methods you can continue practising at home, using affordable materials and equipment. Where more expensive equipment is required we will mention this in the workshop description.
All the equipment and materials you need are included in the price, unless stated otherwise. 
Light refreshments from local suppliers are provided. On full day workshops you are welcome to bring your own lunch to eat inside or out. There is also a wide range of independent sit-in or takeaway delis, cafés, and restaurants, plus a range of supermarkets all within a 5-10 minute walk.
Accessibility
The workshop space is on the first-floor of our Georgian mews home and unfortunately we do not have lift access. Blue badge holders can park outside our front door on the single yellow line by arrangement.
Allergies
The workshop space is in our open plan living space and is not nut free. Please let us know about any skin or food allergies before booking. We offer a dairy-free milk and gluten free snack alternative.
Minimum number no refund policy
To ensure we can always pay our creatives a fair fee, we require a minimum number of bookings for each workshop and for this reason bookings are non-refundable. Should we have to cancel due to low numbers, we will offer you the option to swap to an alternative date or workshop, or to request a refund.
We do our very best to avoid cancellations. Since we often get late bookings, we keep our workshops on sale for as long as possible. We realise that some of you travel from afar, so if you book a space and have not yet received an email confirming your workshop is going ahead and need to make plans for your trip, please get in touch before booking any travel or accommodation so we can update you on booking numbers. Private workshop bookings

<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;" fr-original-class="p1"><span fr-original-style="" fr-original-class="s1" style="box-sizing: border-box;">Create two unique hallmark quality silver rings on this intermediate level workshop with Edinburgh-based silver clay jewellery expert Anna Campbell.</span></p>
<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;" fr-original-class="p1"><span fr-original-style="" fr-original-class="s1" style="box-sizing: border-box;">Using silver clay, a material made up of recycled silver particles, an organic binder and water, you will learn how to make two different types of fine silver rings. Anna will take you through all the steps needed to create your own pieces ready for firing.&nbsp;</span></p>
<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;" fr-original-class="p1"><span fr-original-style="" fr-original-class="s1" style="box-sizing: border-box;">You will complete two projects: a flat band ring, and a D profile ring (as shown in the photographs). You will learn how to design your rings, calculate your size to take shrinkage into account, make your own bespoke pieces and embellish with textures and a gemstone. If you want to make a ring for someone else please remember to check their ring size before coming!&nbsp;</span></p>

Create your own silver rings: a full-day jewellery workshop.
You’ll be guided by Anna Campbell, one of the UK’s leading metal clay instructors, in this inspiring one-day workshop. Designed for those who have completed a beginner’s course or have some experience working with metal clay, this intermediate-level class will take your jewellery-making skills to the next level. 
Over the course of the day, you’ll craft two beautiful silver rings, each showcasing different techniques. This hands-on workshop will provide you with expert guidance as you explore new ways to create and refine your designs in silver clay.
Here’s what you’ll create and learn:
Flat band ring. Start by making a classic flat band ring, which is sleek and flat all the way around. This project will introduce you to essential ring-making techniques, including how to size your ring for a perfect fit and work with silver clay to shape and refine your design. You will be able to texture and embellish this ring to make it unique to you.
D Profile ring. Next, you’ll craft a D profile ring - a design that is flat on the inside and elegantly rounded on the outside. This sophisticated style will allow you to explore more advanced techniques and develop your skills in shaping and finishing.
As you create these rings, you’ll also learn:
Sizing metal clay rings
Get to grips with the unique properties of silver clay and how to accurately size your rings to ensure a perfect fit.
Drying and refining
Master the art of refining your pieces, making sure they are smooth and flawless before firing.
Gemstone setting
Take your designs to the next level by creating a setting for a gemstone, adding a touch of sparkle and sophistication to your rings.
Embellishments and decoration
Discover how to add embellishments and creative details to make your rings truly one-of-a-kind.
Carving and texturing
Experiment with different tools and techniques to carve, texture, and bring your personal style to each piece.
Achieving a professional finish
Learn the secrets to getting a polished, high-quality finish that will make your rings look as though they came from a jeweller’s shop.
After the workshop, your rings will be kiln-fired, polished, and posted directly to you so you can wear/gift and enjoy your creations with pride!

Silver clay is a material manufactured from 100% recycled silver, a plant-based organic binder and water. The silver is recycled from X rays, the photographic industry, electronics, and the like.
