While the videos remain accessible for an additional three weeks starting from the live sessions, it is recommended that participants complete the lectures before the live meetings, which are designed to focus on questions and practical exercises.
Part 2) Live Sessions (19.5 hours): The live classes are spread over three days and consists of the following:
Summary and Recap: Barbara, the instructor, will provide a brief summary and recap of each topic covered in the pre-recorded lectures. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions related to the specific topic being discussed.
Guided Practical Work: Participants will be given dedicated time to work on guided practical exercises either individually or in breakout rooms. These exercises will involve utilizing Stata or R software to implement each evaluation method to real data.

How do I attend?

EITHER -
CLASSROOM OPTION - Attend one of our scheduled classroom locations, completing your Introduction to Phlebotomy Course over 2 days. You will also complete your Advanced Training at the end of the first day and your Competency Training at the end of the second day.

Our Introduction to Phlebotomy and Advanced Phlebotomy Training Kits are supplied at no charge when booking our virtual classroom training option.
If you would like to add one or both of these kits to your classroom training option then these are available to add at time of booking. Our comprehensive training kits each mirror the same equipment and supplies used in the classroom and both include detailed video tutorials, allowing you to continue to practice and "hone" your skills after you have completed your practical training.

OR -

VIRTUAL CLASSROOM OPTION- Complete your theory training online at home or work, then join us for a one day Zoom session to complete your Introduction to Phlebotomy virtual classroom training, followed by your Advanced Training in the evening of the same day. You have the option to add a classroom-based competency session, awarding a CPD Accredited Geopace Certificate of Competency, at time of booking.

Our Virtual Classroom option includes two very comprehensive training kits - one for your introductory course and one for your advanced course. Kits are included at no charge (normally £79.95 each) and are yours to keep and to continue to practice with after you have finished your courses. The equipment and supplies included in your kits are the same as those used if you choose the classroom option.

Our Route to Competency Masterclass - Live Blood Sessions can only be completed in a classroom environment. This is included when you book a classroom option. When booking the virtual classroom option you can choose to add this at time of booking. You will receive a voucher code to enable you to book onto any upcoming dates or locations. For most of our two day course we run our competency training at the end of the second day and therefore you should be able to complete your full training programme with us over two days.

Restorative Breathwork is a gentle, supportive practice that encourages deep relaxation, nervous system regulation, and emotional wellbeing. While this style of breathwork is not intended to induce cathartic or intense altered states, it may still evoke emotional or physical responses as the body unwinds and recalibrates.

Each participant is responsible for listening to their body and honouring their own boundaries and capacity throughout the session.

As a precaution, please consult with your healthcare provider before attending if you have any of the following conditions:
Pregnancy 
Recent surgery or physical injury 
Cardiovascular conditions, including uncontrolled high blood pressure 
Epilepsy or seizures 
Asthma or other unmanaged respiratory conditions

RQF level 1 Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health
Each year approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health condition and at least 1 in 6 employees experience common mental health problems in the workplace. Research has shown that work is the biggest cause of stress which can stop people performing at their best.

Mental health conditions are often hidden due to stigma and fear of discrimination and research has shown that a culture of fear and silence around mental health is costly to employers. The HSE guidance 'First aid needs assessment’ refers to mental health in the workplace.

This 4-hour qualification provides learners with the knowledge to recognise a range of mental health conditions, how to start a supportive conversation and when and how to signpost a person to seek appropriate professional help. Learners will know how to recognise and manage stress.

Learners will not diagnose or treat mental health conditions as this can only be carried out by healthcare professionals but will gain the knowledge to identify when a person may have a condition and know where they can go to get help.




Suitability - Who should attend?
Here are some examples of who may benefit from attending the RQF Level 1 Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health:

Employees and workers: This course is relevant for individuals in any industry who may encounter colleagues or clients experiencing mental health difficulties. It can be particularly valuable for human resources personnel, line managers, supervisors, or team leaders responsible for the well-being of employees.
Teachers and educators: Professionals working in schools, colleges, or other educational institutions can benefit from this training to better understand and support the mental health needs of students.
Healthcare and social care workers: Individuals working in healthcare or social care settings, such as nurses, care assistants, support workers, or counsellors, can enhance their understanding of mental health issues and improve their ability to provide appropriate support.

It is important to note that the Level 1 Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health RQF is an introductory course and does not qualify participants to provide formal mental health interventions or therapy. Outcome / Qualification etc.
Upon successful completion of the RQF Level 1 Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health course, participants can expect to achieve the following outcomes:

Increased Awareness and Understanding: Participants will develop a basic awareness and understanding of mental health and mental health issues. They will gain knowledge about common mental health conditions, their signs and symptoms, and the importance of mental health in overall well-being.
Recognition of Mental Health Signs: Participants will learn to recognize common signs of mental health issues in themselves and others. They will gain an understanding of the importance of early identification and intervention in promoting mental health and seeking appropriate support.
Reduced Stigma and Improved Attitudes: The course aims to challenge stigmas and stereotypes associated with mental health. Participants will develop a more empathetic and supportive attitude towards individuals experiencing mental health challenges, promoting a positive and inclusive environment.
Enhanced Communication Skills: Participants will learn basic communication skills for engaging with individuals experiencing mental health issues. They will gain an understanding of the importance of active listening, empathy, and non-judgmental communication in providing initial support.
Signposting and Seeking Help: Participants will be equipped with knowledge about available resources, services, and support networks for mental health. They will learn about signposting individuals to appropriate professional help and self-help resources.

Course delivery details
Classroom-Based
A minimum of 4 hours spread over at least one day. Ideally, the course should be run in one day, but must be completed within 2 weeks of
starting the course, with each training session a minimum of two hours.

Online/Virtual classroom
The qualification has 2 assigned guided learning hours (GLH) and 5 hours total qualification time (TQT). GLH indicates the number of contact
hours that the learner will have with the trainer/assessor. TQT includes GLH but considers unsupervised learning and is an estimate of how long the average learner will take to achieve the qualification.

Aims of the Course
The module supports anyone who is not a physical activity specialist by supplying high quality and evidence based physical activity training that develops knowledge, skills and confidence to integrate relevant physical activity messages and interventions into everyday conversations. On completion you will have awareness of:
The MECC approach and how this can be applied in your setting.
What is meant by physical activity (including awareness of the latest Chief Medical Officer’s guidelines).
How to deliver healthy lifestyle messages linked to physical activity, to encourage people to change their behaviour.
Where suitable resources for signposting can be found.
Who is the course aimed at?
The course is aimed at anybody interested in looking to support physical activity conversations in the workplace or community. It is particularly useful for workplace health champions, and those who are responsible for workplace health and wellbeing strategies. No previous knowledge is required in order to obtain the content of this course.
How long is the course?
