There will be a further patchwork class on 18th November, a free motion stitching and appliqué class on 25th November and a final workshop on 9th December to learn to put the quilt sandwich together, and bind it.

You may be required to bring a model with you to this course. A fully comprehensive course to teach the natural eyelashes lash lift treatment. Training includes all Anatomy, Physiology, Theory and practical work necessary to create beautifully lifted lashes, that look longer, thicker and more dramatic. It is often said that the eyes are the windows to the soul, and it is for this reason that women have paid close attention to how they are presented for centuries. This course will teach you about the technique, products and tools used to provide a professional Lash Lift and Tint treatment and includes a practical training session and assessment. On completion of the course you will receive a certificate and a recognised, insurable qualification. Includes all tools and products required for the course, there is no take home kit provided with this course. Course Requirements - If you are not currently a Guild member, you will need to purchase a 3 month student membership costing £25. This will give you access to your online theory work. This one-day workshop will introduce you to the history and development of still life and product photography and its use in commerce and fine art. We will look at the work of historical and contemporary practitioners leading to a practical demonstration of still life photography, encompassing the relevant lighting, styling and composition. The day will include a simple product photography and lighting session exploring camera techniques and equipment you can use to create your own images. Please bring along a small object you would like to photograph as part of the day. Morning The day will start with an introduction to the still life genre, looking at its development through photography both as a commercial and artistic tool. We’ll then build and light a still life setup – providing guidance and examples of different lighting techniques, composition and styling skills. Afternoon The afternoon will focus on product photography and lighting for sales. This will include information on equipment and technical requirements, along with some handy tips, tricks and hacks! We’ll also demonstrate ‘Focus Stacking’ – an advanced technique for combining multiple images. The day will conclude with a practical session, where you will get a chance to work in small groups to photograph the objects you have brought in, we’ll also provide some sample objects if required. This is a great opportunity to put the day’s learning into practice with our tutor’s support on hand. Project Days are designed for those who are already familiar with some digital photography processes but who want to pursue a particular aspect and develop skills in a specific genre. This course is the perfect follow-on from our Digital SLR training courses and will support you in building upon your existing knowledge of camera skills and allow you to work confidently on your own projects. Silver Spinner Ring Workshop A day to learn some basic silver Jewellery techniques and create a finished sterling silver spinner ring. Learn to use basic tools and techniques to form and texture a ring to completion. Going home with a beautiful finished item of jewellery. The ticket price covers the cost of tuition and all precious and non precious materials. Whilst soldering experience is not necessary, a basic understanding of soldering and forming metal would be advantageous, enabling you more time to focus on your design. However, we will revise and practice simple soldering techniques, for those with little or no experience. To ensure that all abilities are catered for. On the day you will design a gorgeous sterling silver spinner ring. You will create one main wide band ring with one or multiple spinning satellite rings. You will be guided via a choice of textures and techniques. Price includes all precious materials, practice materials & instruction. We also include light refreshments of hot and cold drinks with plenty of cake and biscuits throughout the day. Please note, this ticket is your deposit and is non-refundable unless the event is cancelled. There are also different texture and forming tools to choose from, to make your spinner ring unique to you. We cover a range of silversmithing techniques in this workshop so it really is a great introduction to working with silver. Who is it for? Beginners onwards. Over 16s with accompanying adult. What will I learn? You'll learn the basics of jewellery making including annealing, sawing, filing, soldering, shaping, forming, texturing and polishing. What's included? We provide all the equipment and materials you will need including the sterling silver to make your rings. Tea, coffee and cake are also included on the day. What shall I bring? Reading glasses if you use them. Also to keep you safe it's best to wear closed toed shoes, tie long hair back and avoid loose flappy clothes.
