Edinburgh Photography Tours are ranked as the number one photography tour in Europe. Established in 2010 by local professional photographer James Christie. The tour is really two tours for the price of one – A photography lesson and an historic tour of Edinburgh’s Old Town.

Do you have a camera, but would like to improve the quality of photographs you produce? This tour is exactly what you need! James will show you how to master manual mode and use best practice for composition. Normally this is a 4 to 5 hour photo walk of the Old Town in Edinburgh, where you will learn how to make better photographs and learn the history of the sites we visit.

During the tour, you will photograph many iconic landmarks (and some lesser known gems), including, but not limited to, The National Monument of Scotland; The Nelson Monument; The Robert Burns Memorial; Queen Mary’s (Mary, Queen of Scots) Bath House; The Scottish Parliament Building; Many historic sites on the famed Royal Mile and of course – the iconic Edinburgh Castle.

This tour is aimed at all levels of photographer, from absolute beginner to the very experienced amateur. James does not use confusing jargon or technical terms, preferring to explain things in an easy to understand format. James Christie, your guide, has been a professional photographer for 35+ years and has photographed many iconic figures, including the late and great David Bowie.
