Who we are Lotus Learning Consultants are part of a global movement working to normalise society’s attitudes towards mental health and to empower people, through delivery of nationally accredited training, to care for themselves and others. The MHFA Programme began in Australia in 2000; the organisation now known as Mental Health First Aid International has approved more than 25 countries including Mental Health First Aid England to accredit individuals to deliver Mental Health First Aid training programmes. Our Instructors are professionals, who have been through the MHFA England accredited training, with a wide range of professional experience. They balance the serious nature of the subject with engaging delivery styles so that participants leave feeling energised and confident to make positive change. We also offer consultancy to organisations reviewing and implementing wellbeing strategies, as well as leadership and management training around people and change.

Jeni is a qualified nurse with over 30 years experience. She has worked in intensive care and trauma units and for nearly 20 years she was a school nurse in a residential school for children with communication disorders and complex medical conditions. She has delivered medical training as far afield as Uganda as well as being a skilled First Aid instructor. She has had plenty of real life experience in putting her knowledge and skills into practice in both the work setting and at youth camps and activity days. Sarah is a qualified speech and language therapist. She has worked in schools and preschools in Kent and Sussex working with children with complex and challenging medical and communication difficulties. Sarah is a fully qualified First Aid instructor and as a mother of three energetically gifted children understands what it is like to have to give First Aid to your own child and the worries that all parents experience.

Although we mainly operate in the South East we have a client base which takes us around the UK Through recommendation our service goes from strength to strength. East Sussex WRAS was established as a voluntary group in 1996, but some of its rescuers have been rescuing since 1985. The organisation was set up in order to provide a front-line rescue service for wildlife casualties who unlike their domesticated cousins, do not have owners to help look after them. WRAS deals with calls from members of the public and other animal welfare organisations like the Swan Sanctuary, Fox Project, Southdowns Badger Group, International Animal Rescue, British Divers Marine Life Rescue, Sussex Bat Hospital and many others. Our service is free of charge, we DO NOT charge - but the average cost to the charity of responding to and dealing with a call-out is £85, which includes veterinary bills, food, water, electric, bedding, caging, rescue equipment, vehicles and fuel, phone bills and other necessary expenses, so we appreciate any donations to help cover these costs. Every year between 3-4,000 calls are made to WRAS’s rescue line. Our rescuers are all volunteers and are funded by kind donations from people like you. East Sussex WRAS is working alongside the Animal Careers College to improve animal welfare.
