This ticket is valid for entry for 1 person for the date of the workshop session & includes the Brass 18k Gold-Plated Ring casting and finishing fee. The session will be focused on the creation and personalisation of rings and pendants and led by Stööki's jewellery technologist Nadia Abbas. In this workshop you will: Get an insight in to the jewellery making process Receive a wax ring or pendant template to customise with your own design Get a tutorial covering a range of jewellery making techniques The aim is to have a finished wax master at the end of the workshop that can be taken home, but there is also the option of turning your personalised wax ring or pendant into a finished jewellery piece. You will learn the fundamentals of visible mending jeans, which uses simple stitches to create stunning patterns and designs on the cloth. A step-by-step demonstration and guidance on how to execute sashiko stitching on jeans will be provided. You must bring your own ripped jeans or work on the sampler provided by us. We will begin with a simple single stone grain setting before moving onto a traditional star setting and finally a row of five stones in a thread and grain style setting. During the day we will also look at considerations for grain setting as well as the preparation of tools and possible applications. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Students should have some stone setting experience and be confident using normal jewellery tools and equipment. All tools and consumables are supplied including your stones and silver. WHAT TO BRING: For safety reasons, during each class, you are required to wear appropriate footwear, we request that no open toed shoes are worn within Workshop 925. Long hair should also be tied back when working with the equipment. You may also wish to bring a notebook. We have handouts for many demonstrations, but there are always many tips and tricks given verbally by the tutor, which some might like to keep note of. Please bring any lunch, snacks and drinks which you may want to your session. We have tea and coffee for you to help yourselves to. For stone setting courses, it is also recommended to bring Optivisors if you have any or glasses which allow you to see smaller stones.
