Prevent Training - Online Course Our Prevent Duty online training course explains the main points of the Prevent Duty and the measures that schools and childcare providers must take in order to comply with it. Examples and scenarios will make you aware of the indicators that a child may be vulnerable to radicalisation and what to do if you believe a child is at risk. For employers, it is an easy way to ensure that they comply with the legal responsibilities under Section 26 of the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015. What is meant by Prevent Duty? The Prevent Duty is a duty on certain organisations to safeguard vulnerable people and communities from being radicalised to supporting terrorism or becoming terrorists. All schools and registered childcare providers have to conform with Prevent. They need to have clear procedures in place and fulfil their obligations under Prevent to protect students from the threat of radicalisation and extremism. The Prevent Duty is part of a school's or childcare provider's wider duty to safeguard children. What are the learning outcomes for the Prevent online training course? At the end of the Prevent training course you will be able to: State what the Prevent Duty is and how it works. Understand what Channel is and how it relates to Prevent. Identify key legislation relating to Prevent. Provide examples of the signs of radicalisation. Recall what individuals and organisations must do to comply with Prevent. Explain the need for sharing information. Use examples to explain how to respond to extremism. Recall other sources of information for schools about Prevent. Introduction to the Prevent Duty The first topic explains the terms 'radicalisation', 'British values' and 'extremism'. It outlines the Prevent Duty and explains the relationship between Prevent and safeguarding duties. The topic identifies which organisations must comply with the duty. How the Prevent Duty works The second topic outlines the role of schools and childcare providers play in preventing radicalisation. It describes the counter-terrorism scheme called Channel and the role this plays in safeguarding young people. Complying with Prevent The third topic identifies what a Prevent risk assessment covers and other organisations that schools must work with. You will learn about how the internet poses a risk for young people and what schools must do about those risks. The topic covers information sharing and record keeping. It also explains who is responsible for compliance and what happens if you do not comply with the Prevent Duty. Sharing Information Topic 4 describes the legislation that applies to sharing information under the Prevent duty. This includes requirements for school leaders and staff. Vulnerabilities and Signs of Radicalisation Topic 5 identifies vulnerabilities that can lead children to radical views and behaviours that are causes for concern. How to Respond to Extremism Topic 6 proposes a procedure for reporting a concern and discusses the importance of responding proportionately. It gives examples of how to promote resilience to extremism. Accessing Support The final topic provides some further sources of information about Prevent.

About this Training Course This 5 full-day course is aimed at engineers and supervisors who already have a basic understanding of well construction methods but who would benefit from a more detailed knowledge of completion design. The course will concentrate on the important aspects of completion design and what makes a safe and efficient well. A common thread of practical examples will be used throughout the course in the form of a case study or 'red-thread' exercise. The case study is based around data all taken from a single field where those attending will work through all the basic issues of a completion design. The exercises associated with the case study is performed in the student's own time after each of the formal sessions. However, at the start of the next day, the case study is reviewed and discussed. The whole case study will continue through all sessions, with each element being reviewed at the start of the next session. There is no 'right' answer to the exercise - producing interesting discussions! The purpose of the course is not to go over specific equipment in detail. Teaching methods include presentations, videos, and animations and the case study. The course will cover: Types and configurations of completions The completion design process Inflow performance, skin and formation damage Perforating; selection, deployment and interface with rest of completion Stimulation and impact on completion and flow performance with coverage of modern horizontal multifrac tools Open hole, non-sand control completions including open hole packers and horizontal well clean up Sand control; when do you need it, basic types and selection guidelines. About this Training Course The prospect maturation process, from a lead to a drillable prospect, is at the heart of the exploration business. This 5 full day course will cover all aspects of the prospect maturation process: play understanding in the context of regional geological understanding, detailed prospect evaluation; realistic risk & volume assessment consistent with the play understanding and prospect details, and an introduction to exploration economics. Throughout the course, there is a strong focus on pragmatic (geo)logical approach for assessing those aspects that are input parameters for a meaningful assessment of prospect risks and volumes, with emphasis on a balanced integration of contributions from different sub-surface disciplines. Many examples from basins from around the world are used to illustrate how traps, reservoirs, seals and charge occur in different basin settings. Specifics topics that will be discussed include the following: The statistical fundamentals for risk and volume assessment will be presented, with practical exercises for understanding the results of a risk & volume assessment as they are displayed in expectation curves. The difference between risk and uncertainty. A full discussion of the essential requirements for a working petroleum system: Trap, reservoir, seal and charge. Examples of how traps, reservoirs, seals and charge work in different basin types around the globe and in Australian basins. Exercises and guidelines for estimating uncertainties for prospect parameters, including advice for deciding which distribution type to use, and how to constrain those distributions for meaningful uncertainty ranges (setting minimum most likely and maximum values). Particular emphasis will be given to estimating hydrocarbon column lengths with their associated uncertainties in undrilled prospects. Prospects and plays: The value of play maps and how these should be used for assessment of prospect risks and for ranking of prospects within a play. Calculating volume ranges for prospects. Calculating volumes for groups of prospects; how to add risked prospect volumes for a statistically correct representation of the volume promise of a portfolio of prospects. Geophysical evidence: Incorporating geophysical evidence (DHIs) consistently and realistically in a risk assessment. An understandable and geology-based workflow, consistent with Bayes theorem, will be presented. Exploration economics. Training Objectives What this course will cover in 5 days: This course describes the various aspects that need to be considered in the prospect maturation process, including: Play development in the context of a sound understanding of the regional geology Detailed prospect evaluation and understanding of the critical aspects of traps, reservoirs, seals and charge Examples from plays and prospects in different basin settings from around the globe Realistic and pragmatic risk and volume assessment, based on the geological understanding of plays and prospects An introduction to exploration economics Examples of plays, oil and gas fields and prospects from basins from around the world, including the Far East, will be given. Inclusion Facilitation (IF) is an approach to enhancing the inclusion, in a mainstream community of any child or young person who is experiencing difficulties in the world because of disability, personal crisis or because of their challenging behaviour towards others. The IF approach works by mobilising the young person’s natural supports to provide support and engage with the person in difficulty. Inclusion Facilitation is designed to create a better life for an individual by the provision of an intense input designed to being about social change. This usually entails a series of visits focused on getting the person out and about to increase confidence, social skills and presence in their local community and to pursue goals and dreams. Uniquely, the work is carried out under the close clinical supervision of a practicing psychologist. What is Inclusion Facilitation Work? ‘We do whatever it takes!’ Usually a Person Centred Planning event would be carried out using the PATHor MAP process – majoring on dreams and goal setting leading to precise action planning. An experienced psychologist alongside the inclusion facilitator would carry out a PATH. A large graphic will be one of the outcomes of the meetings this is a great visual record and a shared memory of the event. This will also inform the priorities for the inclusion facilitation work Optionally following the PATH event a ‘scoping report’ is created outlining what Inclusion Facilitation could offer and highlighting what dreams and goals the individual has. The PATH is also provides a good opportunity for the Facilitator to meet the focus person in a comfortable positive environment. 12 weekly visits from the Inclusion Facilitator followed by 5 monthly visits is our preferred model but we can be flexible with the delivery of this input. This is just a guideline, however we have received good results using this time frame. After this intensive input the Inclusion Facilitator will hand over to the existing family, carers and PA team to carry on where he or she has left off. This transition time is planned from the outset. An experienced psychologist is there to support the facilitator at all times and will guide all work done by the inclusion facilitator. Is this just Support work? No! This is proactive engagement – doing whatever is required. We are not just passively or reactively providing what is asked for – we are actively pursuing a good life for the individual. Our work is built on careful research around a person’s interests and what opportunities exist locally. We carry out community mapping. We actively work to tackle an individual’s own resistance and reluctance to engage more socially. We actively engage with people in social settings that the individual attends to build bridges and connections – we are bridge builders. We build circles around a person. We create the conditions in which friendships can flourish. We have direct psychological supervision and support throughout. This work is short term and intense. Enjoy participating in a multimedia workshop that will challenge, entertain and reach for your emotions. Learning Objectives 1.To be able to understand the values and wider context of inclusion. 2.To be able to set up and run an ‘Inclusion Facilitation project to improve the life chances and connections of a child or young person. 3.To understand and be able to maximise the power of the peer group in supporting relationships, achievement and behaviour. Course Content The course answers the questions: What do you do with the child who is isolated by their aggression and anger, through being different, disabled or new to the school or community? Practically how do we go about including high profile children or young people? How can we help some children be friends? We will cover: Inclusion values underpinning this work The Intentional Building of Relationships –‘Inclusion Facilitation’ work as an example Not doing it alone – The Importance of Teams in developing inclusive practice Practical setting up and running of IF work Lessons learned Stories of IF work
