Here you will find out about Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service’s governing body, the Combined Fire Authority (CFA), organisational structure, locations and contacts, constitutional and governance and our commitment to equality and diversity. As a fire and rescue service, our main responsibilities are not limited to firefighting. We also respond to a wide range of incidents, increasingly those that involve our rescue capability. As well as responding locally, we can be called to help on either a national or international level with our Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) and International Search and Rescue (ISAR) teams. We also work closely with other emergency services and our local authority partners to deliver an emergency response and protect our communities. We carry out an enforcement role to ensure members of the public are safe and businesses are operating in a safe and legal manner. While we always respond in an emergency situation. One of our priorities is to make the public aware of risks, helping make them safer in order to avoid accidents from happening in the first place. This is done through our community safety and education programmes.

I’ve always been passionate about exercise and keeping fit, taking part in studio fitness classes or going to the gym.  Over 19 years ago I turned my love of keeping fit into a career and became a studio fitness instructor; teaching classes such as Tums & Bums, Body Pump, Indoor Cycling and Body Balance, all whilst working full-time in sales and marketing. In 2018, I left my day-job after 21 years to pursue a full-time career in the fitness industry and gained my Diploma in Personal Training qualification. I now get to spend my days working in an environment I absolutely love, meeting and working with so many great people.  To see them grow in confidence, become fitter, stronger and begin to enjoy exercise is brilliant. I also run Outdoor Group Fitness sessions (Bootcamps) five times a week. Qualified with Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training,  Level 3 GP Referral Instructor Based in Mountsorrel, Leicestershire. I have a small training studio perfect for 1-2-1 and partner training sessions.  Fully insured, Emergency First Aid certificate, CIMSPA registered (Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity)

Dealing with uncertainty, high levels of risk and imperfect information, he leads teams of clinicians in a fast-moving and highly stressful environment. As a hospital director, he was responsible for the strategic and operational success of clinical services. Tasked with maintaining clinical effectiveness, he was part of the senior team leading a medical division of 1300 people and has been awarded Fellowship of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management. A law graduate, endurance athlete and entrepreneur, James also provides advice to international life-science firms on strategy, helping them to scale internationally. Helen has held trustee positions at a variety of charitable organisations, including the Federation of Holistic Therapists, Citizens Advice Bureau and the Psychosynthesis Trust, in addition to work on various governing bodies.  David Ockleton, our Business Development Director,  has had successful careers both in the Armed Forces and Industry, working in most parts of the World. He has extensive experience of Supply Chain and Logistics in general, Business Change, Leadership and Management, Security and Counter Terrorism. David is a Chartered Fellow of CILT (UK) and a former CILT (UK) External Verifier. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, a Member of the City and Guilds Institute and a Member of the Institute of Explosive Engineers.  He was previously the Chairman of the Qualifications Development Assessment Committee for CILT(UK).
