I have been interested in Art of various types for as long as I can remember, and have inherited a passion for making things. My work is mainly in textiles & mixed media, focusing on line & texture." Deb Cooper is a mixed media textile artist and maker from the Northeast of England. Drawn to natural forms, & the beautiful way nature and time ages things. Line, flow & texture, always return as the main themes within her work. Considering the impact of waste and over production Deb regularly uses recycled fibres, found objects and vintage textiles to extend their use. Many of the repurposed fibres have also been dyed with plant materials and rusty objects, often found, or grown on her allotment giving her work a subtle colour pallet. Deb is a proud member of the Society for Embroidered Works (S.E.W.) who promote that “Stitched Art is Art”.

Hi, I'm Stephie (not Fred), An embroidery artist and creative based in Manchester. I'm inspired by the natural and the man(chester) made, and passionate about encouraging others to explore and express their creativity. I LOVE running workshops and sharing the joy of stitching and creating with others. I want people to leave a Hoop & Fred workshop feeling better than when they walked in and empowered to create. Maybe they’ll fall head over heels with embroidery as I did, or perhaps they will simply feel better for having spent a couple of hours trying their hand at something arty and leave feeling confident enough to try other new things.  All my workshops are suitable for beginners. I  ensure everyone gets the time they need to ask questions, and they leave with all the materials and knowledge required to finish their project at home.

I am a visual artist, formerly specialising in bespoke contemporary textile art. I spent some time travelling in India and Indonesia and I became deeply interested in mandalas. I learnt that the repetition, patterns, colours and the geometry were all aspects of mandalas which helped to take the spectator into a meditative space.

Jenni Smith Ltd is a studio based in a historic mill on the edge of Ilkley Moor in the North of England. Our aim is to share our love of sewing and the endless possibilities of cloth and thread. We teach studio classes in dressmaking, quilting and textile art and sell patterns worldwide through our online shop and trusted stockists.

I am a Devon based textile artist creating contemporary textile art inspired by the coast and countryside. With no formal training I took up free motion machine embroidery in 2012 and over time I have gravitated towards textile art, developing my own unique style by using organza and net to give a soft watercolour feel to my work. Working loosely from photographs, but often directly from my imagination, each piece of my work evolves as it is created. I prefer not to use a sketchbook, instead allowing my creativity to guide me as each piece develops. Colour and texture are big influences for me and where possible I prefers to source up cycled textiles for their variety and individuality. I love the idea that these materials can be given a new purpose, and can be appreciated in a totally different way for many more years to come. As well as my original artwork my range also includes digital and giclee fine art prints, greeting cards and textile art kits, all of which can be found in my Etsy shop https://www.etsy.com/shop/AlisonWhateley?ref=hdr_shop_menu I also welcome commissions of all sizes, and will work with you to get the result you are looking for. Hi I’m Diane, a textile artist and workshop tutor based in Liverpool – originally from Lancashire. I create beautiful handmade textile art products made from all things fabric, fibre and stitch. Anything from one off wall art pieces, hanging art quilts and lots of textile jewellery and personal gifts. When I’m not at my sewing machine, hand sewing or sketching, you can find me in art galleries, libraries and exploring local nature looking for even more inspiration.

I have always since a young child been interested in art, design and making things. My parents encouraged me to paint and try other crafts such as sewing, knitting and crocheting. I trained as a primary school teacher and was the art co-ordinator in most of the school I taught in as well as other subjects. I lived in London and taught there as well. I took early retirement and moved to Suffolk with my husband and dogs. It was here that my interests in textile art and silver clay jewellery blossomed. I became a qualified Precious Metal Clay instructor and hold two internationally recognised Diplomas in Metal Clay and I teach silver clay workshops from my home or other venues here in Suffolk. I now teach both to adults, encouraging my students to ‘have a go’ and enjoy themselves. I now make unique handmade silver jewellery mainly inspired by nature. All my jewellery is made by my own hands from silver clay which is an eco-friendly metal clay is 99.9% pure silver which is a recycled material.
