How much is a 90 minute virtual gift wrapping class?There are 2 options to choose from starting from £97 per person3. How long does a virtual gift wrapping class last?A group virtual gift wrapping class lasts 90 minutes but I recommend allowing 2 hours in case there are any tech issue (unlikely but better to be prepared).4. Are materials provided?No, materials are not provided. I will send you a list of what you need at least 2 weeks ahead of the class (or once your booking is confirmed if less than 2 weeks until the class)5. What is the difference between an in person & a virtual workshop?At a 90 minute virtual class you will get tuition on essential gift wrapping techniques, practical guidance on tying different styles of bow & learn pro tips. An in-person class ususally last a full day, includes lunch/refreshments and all materials which are not included with any virtual classes. 6. What if I can't attend the class - do I get a refund?If you can bo longer attend the date of the class you have chosen, you may move your booking to another date, once, at no extra charge. I do limit the number of people at a group virtual class so if your chosen date to move to is full, you may need to wait until another class becomes available. If no class is available then you will be eligible for a refund. 7. Who is a virtual class suitable for?The classes are suitable for any skill level from beginner to anyone that has already tried the basics and wants to learn more. A group class is ideal if want to attend with a group of friends but you struggle to attend an in person class that fits in with your schedule/commitments. 8. Who is a virtual class not suitable for? There are no exclusions to suitability 9. What results can I expect if I attend a virtual class?That all depends on you and if you’re prepared to go away and practice/use the skills you have learned in the class. 10. Is there a replay? We will begin with a simple single stone grain setting before moving onto a traditional star setting and finally a row of five stones in a thread and grain style setting. During the day we will also look at considerations for grain setting as well as the preparation of tools and possible applications. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Students should have some stone setting experience and be confident using normal jewellery tools and equipment. All tools and consumables are supplied including your stones and silver. WHAT TO BRING: For safety reasons, during each class, you are required to wear appropriate footwear, we request that no open toed shoes are worn within Workshop 925. Long hair should also be tied back when working with the equipment. You may also wish to bring a notebook. We have handouts for many demonstrations, but there are always many tips and tricks given verbally by the tutor, which some might like to keep note of. Please bring any lunch, snacks and drinks which you may want to your session. We have tea and coffee for you to help yourselves to. For stone setting courses, it is also recommended to bring Optivisors if you have any or glasses which allow you to see smaller stones. Professor Meredith A. Crowley, Professor of Economics at Cambridge University, will give the 2025 IFS Annual Lecture on "Trade Wars and the Future of Globalisation". The world enjoyed a dramatic fall in policy barriers to international trade and rising international integration of national markets throughout the 1990s and 2000s. However, since 2010, trade integration has stalled, with the global trade to GDP ratio hovering around 30 percent. Over the last fifteen years, the world has witnessed Britain’s exit from the EU, the 2018 US-China Trade War, major trade sanctions against Russia, and, most recently, the threat of broader American trade restrictions. This lecture will examine recent evidence on exporting firms in multiple countries and suggest new approaches to evaluating the price and welfare impacts of market fragmentation due to Brexit and the US-China Trade War. Meredith A. Crowley is a Professor of Economics at the University of Cambridge, a Fellow of St. John’s College Cambridge, President of the International Economics and Finance Society, and a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR – London). Her research, focused on international trade, trade policy, and exchange rates has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals including the American Economic Review and the Journal of International Economics. She has appeared or been cited in over 100 print and broadcast media outlets including the BBC, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Economist, The Financial Times, The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Times and National Public Radio (US). Prior to arriving at Cambridge in 2013, Crowley worked in the Research Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. She has taught at Georgetown University, the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and Nanjing University. She has presented her research at central banks and international institutions around the world, including the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and the World Trade Organization. Crowley received her MPP from Harvard University and her PhD in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
