Come down to St Werburgh's City Farm roundhouse and write a ‘campfire song' - one that can be easily taught and sung round a campfire - in magical surroundings, as part of an intimate group of six or seven. During the day you'll learn about basic folk song structure, how to loop round on a theme, how to use repeatable motifs to hook the listener into the song, how to break down a story into three verses, and more. We'll also have a real campfire at the end, and sing the songs we've written.
The day is a very encouraging time, and you'll be expected to feed back on everyone else's ideas - as well as sing them at the end :)
These workshops can be booked as a group or you can book on to a workshop as an individual.

Thanks Ali, what a lovely review :) It was a pleasure to have you on the course and to see the process so enthusiastically engaged with. And a brilliant song to end with, too! Wishing your soup song many great outings ;)
Thanks so much Isha, it was great having you along! You ended up with such a hilarious but also really profound song - I don't think anyone else could've written that song but you! Thanks for bringing your vulnerability and gorgeous poetry into the mix :)
