If you have a machine and would like some help getting to know your machine, I am now offering one to one sessions in the studio.
They will include: A 2 hour one to one session to cover getting to know your machine, threading, filling bobbins, changing needles, cleaning, experimenting with stitches, stitch length etc and to make a simple tote bag with French Seams and Top Stitching to put into practice, some of the techniques. 
All materials provided ready cut. Just bring your machine with the accessories and instruction booklet.

Get To Know Your Sewing Machine (Request)

On this evening class you will have the opportunity to make a piece of jewellery from silver clay. Silver clay is relatively new to the world of jewellery making, introduced by Mitsubishi in the early 90&rsquo;s. It is made from tiny particles of reclaimed and recycled silver which are mixed with a non toxic organic binder.
The clay can be rolled, textured, moulded and carved. During firing, the binder burns away and the silver particles sinter so you are left with a beautiful piece of solid silver. There are so many possibilities to create some beautiful jewellery.
In your class you will learn some of the basic techniques needed to create silver clay jewellery and shown how to use the required tools in the workshop.
- Designed for beginners - you need no previous experience or skill!
- Small class numbers so you get plenty of tutor time (5 people max).
- The class starts at 6pm and ends at 9pm.
- Most people make a pair of earrings or a pendant.
- Materials included - see more below.
- The Jewellery Business is located in Sheffield City Centre and is a fully equipped jewellery studio.
The class fees includes materials (5g silver clay, and either a chain for a pendant or some ear wires for earrings), if you wish to make more on the day you can purchase extras in the class.

Together we&rsquo;ll explore ways to &nbsp;create work that reflects your individual interests, passion, and point of view, no matter your experience level. The course content is delivered over seven live Zoom sessions, in a small, welcoming group with plenty of opportunities for interaction. Additionally, there will be optional (but highly recommended) assignments to complete in between the live sessions - assignments designed to get you stuck in to your creative practice in new and interesting ways.During each live session, there will be a demonstration focusing on a particular aspect of visual art - this will include various materials, subjects, and considerations such as composition, theme, mark-making, layering, and so on. This free event focuses on this year's Externally Set Assignment briefs for the A-LEVEL Fashion & Textiles courses. It is an opportunity for you to not just to learn from others, but also to contribute to a really collaborative environment, where everyone is able to take something helpful back to their respective students and schools. 
We are not specialists in each of the different exam boards and we recommend that you refer to your own board's latest official guidance for the most accurate and up-to-date information. To maximise our time together, we will be organising four breakout rooms, for AQA, Edexcel, OCR and Eduqas. You need to have your ESA briefs accessible, to have already read this and perhaps some ideas ready to contribute to the groups collective mind mapping.
This is a precious time for everyone to share experiences and gather inspiration.
