<p data-key="26"><span data-key="27">On this full day course you will have the opportunity to make a couple of pieces of jewellery from silver clay. Silver clay is relatively new to the world of jewellery making, introduced by Mitsubishi in the early 90's. It is made from tiny particles of reclaimed and recycled silver which are mixed with a non toxic organic binder. The clay can be rolled, textured, moulded and carved. During firing, the binder burns away and the silver particles sinter so you are left with a beautiful piece of solid silver.</span></p>
<p data-key="28"><span data-key="29">There are so many possibilities to create some beautiful jewellery. In your full day class you will learn some of the basic techniques needed to create silver clay jewellery and shown how to use the required tools in the workshop.</span></p>

<p>Come and join one our classes at the jewellery business studio. We have the tools and the experience, you&rsquo;ll go home thrilled and wearing your new jewellery with pride! Small classes mean you get plenty of one to one time with your tutor.</p>
<p>Everyone is here to enjoy themselves and have fun doing something unique &ndash; we pride ourselves on having a friendly and open group of people to work with (new friendships are often formed here!). These classes are suitable for beginners and those with some skills already. We will meet you at your level and teach what you need.&nbsp;</p>
<p>No matter if you&rsquo;ve never made jewellery before. No matter how creative you are, we&rsquo;ll work with you. And trust us, you&rsquo;ll surprise yourself at what you can do.</p>
<p><strong>Weekly Classes</strong></p>
<p>Weekly classes with Emmie run on Wednesday and Thursday evenings and also Thursday mornings. These sessions are 2 hours long each and should be block booked (six sessions &ndash; flexible start and finish point). Once you have purchased your block of 6 sessions, you will be given access to our calendar where you can book onto the sessions you wish to attend. This ticket will book you onto your first session, the following 5 sessions can be booked at your convenience via our online calendar at The Jewellery Business. <p>6 sessions cost &pound;120 plus the cost of your metal - the metal costs are to be paid on the day of your class. The cost of the metal depends on your designs and will probably be much less than you expect. Come and join one our classes at the jewellery business studio. We have the tools and the experience, you’ll go home thrilled and wearing your new jewellery with pride! Small classes mean you get plenty of one to one time with your tutor.
Everyone is here to enjoy themselves and have fun doing something unique – we pride ourselves on having a friendly and open group of people to work with (new friendships are often formed here!). These classes are suitable for beginners and those with some skills already. We will meet you at your level and teach what you need. 
No matter if you’ve never made jewellery before. No matter how creative you are, we’ll work with you. And trust us, you’ll surprise yourself at what you can do.
Weekly Classes
Weekly classes with Emmie run on Wednesday and Thursday evenings and also Thursday mornings. These sessions are 2 hours long each and should be block booked (six sessions – flexible start and finish point). Once you have purchased your block of 6 sessions, you will be given access to our calendar where you can book onto the sessions you wish to attend. What is special about the Simple Pattern Drafting Skills Course?
This face-to-face course is an experience that delivers textiles and fashion skills, knowledge and understanding. It is a great learning environment which allows you to gain new skills and techniques, showing how these can be incorporated in lesson plans and delivered in a fun, inspiring and engaging way. You can ask questions direct to the course developer/leader, practice skills, create classroom resources and network with other teachers.

Dawn Foxall has 35 years’ experience in the textiles and garment industry including design consultant, schools presenter and resources developer for EMTEX; Fashion lecturer and programme developer at various UK Universities and FE colleges; course presenter for D&T Association, Key Stage Developments (KSD), SFE and other course providers.
She was a co-founder of Liv.co.uk, where she managed design, buying and sourcing from Fairtrade, organic suppliers in India and Egypt. She has since worked with brands such as LUSH Soaps and Weleda, sourcing ethical products and consulting for young designers and start-ups. In 2017 she launched her own knitwear brand FOXOLOGY designing and producing sustainably sourced collections. 
In 2015 Dawn set up the Textiles Skills Centre (formerly ‘Academy’) supporting textile teachers, delivering workshops and events. She continues to teach pattern cutting at various education and commercial establishments, as well as for Textiles Skills Centre and also drafts patterns and consults for industry.

Participants in this course often move on to our Introduction to Paper Craft and Mixed Media Course that will introduce you to the basic materials, tools, equipment and techniques used. Experience has shown us that participants for whom English is not their first language, have found that quilling has helped them improve their understanding and spoken English as there is a lot of repetition of basic terms including numbers, colours and directions. Working with someon for whom English is their first language is also helpful.

A great opportunity to discuss the A-Level ESA (Externally Set Assignment) with fellow teachers and how best to approach the themes. We will be using breakout rooms for each board, so that you can network and discuss ideas and best practice.
The session will be lead by Becci Upton and Rachel Addy
This free event focuses on this year's Externally Set Assignment briefs for the A-LEVEL Fashion & Textiles courses. It is an opportunity for you to not just to learn from others, but also to contribute to a really collaborative environment, where everyone is able to take something helpful back to their respective students and schools. 
We are not specialists in each of the different exam boards and we recommend that you refer to your own board's latest official guidance for the most accurate and up-to-date information. To maximise our time together, we will be organising four breakout rooms, for AQA, Edexcel, OCR and Eduqas. You need to have your ESA briefs accessible, to have already read this and perhaps some ideas ready to contribute to the groups collective mind mapping.
This is a precious time for everyone to share experiences and gather inspiration.

This qualification is designed for learners aged pre-16 and above who wish to develop skills and knowledge in creative craft.

This course has been designed to be as affordable for families as possible.
Please note, this is not a GCSE but is a GCSE Level course which is why it is designed to span 2 years, although we offer complete flexibility on the timeframe that learners can complete within.
This qualification is a Level 2 Qualification and is Ofqual approved carrying 15 credits. Other examples of Level 2 qualifications are BTEC Level 2 and the Silver Arts Award.
