Free relationships and sex education training for professionals working in North Wales. Cwmni Addysg Rhyw - Sex Education Company has been commissioned to deliver relationships and sex education (RSE) training to BCUHB staff and partner organisations in North Wales. The aim of this training is to increase confidence and skills to work more effectively with issues concerning sexual health and vulnerable young people. 'The best training I have ever attended!' Although this course is free of charge to attend we will charge late cancellation administration fees as follows: No notification of non-attendance - £50, less than 48 hours notice of non-attendance £30, Less than 1 weeks notice of non-attendance £25. By registering on the course you agree to these charges on late cancellation or failure to attend. As we usually have a reserve list for our courses we ask you to only book on the course if you can attend the whole day. Arriving late or leaving early will be classed as non-attendance and may be charged as such. We will be delivering this training via Teams or Zoom. A one-day training course for all staff in special schools and colleges, to increase confidence and skills providing RSE and pastoral support to learners.

Speakeasy is a free course for parents and other caregivers of autistic children and young people, aged up to 18 years old, living within Conwy and Denbighshire. A programme of six sessions. Mondays 6pm to 8pm. We will be delivering the course online. Discussing growing up, relationships, and sex with your autistic child can be a challenging yet essential aspect of parenting. Our Speakeasy course is designed to guide you through these conversations; join us for a course designed to address the specific needs of parents with autistic children and young people, supporting you to talk with your child about growing up, relationships and sex. The course will cover: What is relationships and sex education and what it means for you Growing up and puberty Online behaviour Protecting children from harm Safer sex Relationships and sexuality education (RSE) in school The course offers a flexible and relaxed way to gain greater confidence in an area that can cause embarrassment and awkwardness for families with children of all ages. The programme is particularly suited to parents and caregivers of autistic children and young people as we can explore key concerns, adapt resources to different needs and work as a group on maximising strengths and problem solving.  Eligibility: Are you a parent or other caregiver of an autistic child/children? A fabulous four day (3 days face to face and one day virtually) facilitation course for anyone wanting to teach or support people with learning disabilities with sex and relationships. A course participant from September 2022 said: “I wanted to thank you for the training last week. It was enjoyable and invaluable. It's been a while since I funded training myself and the last time I had, I was concerned as it wasn't particularly fulfilling but this was a completely different experience. Thanks to both of you.” Aim: To support participants to develop their current knowledge, skills and confidence to plan, deliver and evaluate relationships and sex education (RSE) sessions to groups and individuals with learning disabilities  Learning Outcomes: By the end of the course, participants will have:  • considered their work environment in relation to delivering RSE  • identified how to assess the relationships and sex needs of the group or individual with learning disabilities  • created an inclusive, factually correct, interactive RSE session for a group or an individual with learning disabilities  • used a range of resources and exercises to design their session taking into account different learning styles  • practised their session with the training participants  • delivered a session to a group of their choice and returned to discuss this session with other participants  This course is appropriate for teachers, care workers, clinical staff, social workers, SALTs, OTs, anyone working with people with learning disabilities.
