Anna is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with experience of working in the NHS and private practice for over 5 years. Anna has specialist training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and specialises in trauma-focused and trauma-informed therapy. She practices using an integrative approach, drawing from a range of therapeutic skills and concepts to be able to be responsive to the needs of her clients. Anna is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC - check the register HERE) and EMDR UK. She is also a member of the BPS Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors (RAPPS), having completed additional training in clinical supervision. Lads Like Us are a Manchester based non-profit organisation. Our journey started with a mission dedicated to informing the practice of professionals and organisations that had failed us as children and adults. We had to make something positive out of our lived experience, chaos and anger, in order to thrive. Shouting and screaming about failures and trying to hold people to account made us mentally ill. We needed to adopt a new approach that would help " Us and them " that was our first problem. In order to break barriers between " Us and Them " we needed to work out a way to weaponise the empathy of professionals to allow them to see that the majority of the behaviours displayed by service users/clients/citizens/people are a direct result of some kind of trauma experienced throughout their lives. These people we refer to are lads like us, from similar estates we grew up on, that are repeatedly presenting at mental health units, substance misuse services, prison and probation. The answer to our problem was to create a trauma informed training package focusing on professional curiosity that would inform practice, using little Mike and little Danny's experiences combined with the healing journeys of both not forgetting the input from the services that supported us. " The Million Pieces Experience " an NHS safeguarding award winning Trauma Informed package that has proven to inform the practice of professionals was created. We then partnered with Barnardos to create Million Pieces Trauma master classes. Lads like us deliver bespoke packages across the country and are now recognised UK wide as a leading Lived experience resource for organisational staff development for those who work with people who have experienced trauma. Lads like us work with leaders in the safeguarding sector both public and private through their consultancy work.

The charity originally called South Cumbria Rape and Abuse Service (SCRAS), was established by Christine Birchall in 1991 as a community response to the lack of support for rape and sexual abuse victims in the local area. It originally operated as an entirely volunteer based organisation supported by community fundraising. The organisation has successfully developed into an established service provider, whilst still retaining its original ethos and local identity. All of our staff are qualified to the relevant level and counsellors are registered with BACP/BAPT – if required clients can request to view training certificates or accreditation awards to verify competency. We are a registered charity (number: 1109637), and a company limited by guarantee (number: 5424196) ●We provide face to face and remote trauma informed counselling services ● We deliver play therapy, creative and sand tray therapy for children aged 4 and above ●We offer pre-trial therapy sessions to adults and children whilst involved in the criminal justice process ●We work with parents, carers, families, and friends of people affected by rape, sexual abuse, or sexualised violence ●We hold groups, peer support sessions and offer outdoor therapies ●We deliver educational programmes, training, and consultancy to other agencies – voluntary and statutory ●We have online digital information and resources ●We raise awareness of the wider issues around rape, sexual abuse, or sexualised violence within our community

I completed my first teacher training with The Frame Academy in 2017, whilst working full time in London. Since then I have been enjoying the process of continuously learning, growing and challenging myself with various trainings, amazing teachers and many different inspirations. I believe the healing, calming power of nature, and after 5 years in the big smoke I recently left to spend more time by the big sea. I love being in, on or by the sea, my Moroccan rescue dog Pumba, coffee, poetry, campfires and planning retreats, adventures (and adventurous retreats). After five years in London and a long lockdown in a little surf village on the Moroccan coast, I am now in the New Forest. I completed my first training 200 hour vinyasa teacher training with Emily-Clare Hill and Michael James Wong at the Frame Academy. I’ve since studied Yin & Ayurveda with The Yoga People, Assisting Techniques with Sunday School Yoga and Trauma-Informed Yoga with Ourmala. I am also a BSUPA paddleboard instructor and SUP yoga teacher, which I absolutely love! Yoga, on the water, under the sky – what’s not to like?! I love sharing the practice of yoga and any tools, techniques or little things that I have figured out along the way that can help others feel more connected to their bodies, to others and the world.
