Our Virtual Learning courses provide the same high-quality tuition as our classroom-based sessions. To participate, you will need a laptop, PC, smart phone or tablet with a built-in or external camera and microphone. From the comfort of your own home, you will have the opportunity to communicate with your tutor and classmates through video chat, using your phone or computer camera. This allows for seamless interaction, discussions, and collaborative learning. Quarterly meetings at the Academy To ensure a well-rounded learning experience, you will be required to attend face-to-face lessons at the Academy on a quarterly basis, which means every three months. These sessions serve several important purposes: Practical Units: Some aspects of the course require hands-on practical training. The face-to-face lessons will cover these practical units, allowing you to gain valuable experience and apply the knowledge you have acquired during the virtual learning sessions. Tests and Mock Exams: These assessments are important for evaluating your progress, identifying areas for improvement, and preparing you for the final exams. Course Summary Mini Medics - First Aid The Mini Medics courses is a Child friendly introduction to first aid and defibrillation aimed at children between the ages of 8 and 11, but it can suit children of any age from about 5 upwards. The course is kept at a basic level with no use of confusing terminologies. The mini medics course will show complete respect for the child’s ability, make it educational and practical, and instil the importance of helping someone who is poorly or injured. Fully illustrated 24-page ‘First Aid for Children’ book • A unique syringe pen in various colours (or colouring pencils) • A 4-page worksheet There is also the opportunity to purchase t-shirts and hoodies - delivered at a later date Course Contents A range of subjects are covered including: What is First Aid? This is an intensive installation, commissioning, and maintenance course for emergency lighting systems. It is a follow on from our Foundation course on emergency lighting where the requirements of installation, commissioning, and maintenance are considered.
