Explore the wonderful effects you can create using Ink resist and gouache in this one day workshop with mixed media artist Lesley Dearn.
The step by step process makes it suitable for everyone from the absolute beginner to advanced. We will cover elements of design and colour along with technique as you create your own &lsquo;one off&rsquo; images.
While you will start each piece methodically and have a good degree of control, the end result is always slightly unpredictable so there&rsquo;s a wonderful element of the surprise! The effect reminds me of woodcut printing or stained glass.
In the workshop, you&rsquo;ll be able to make several different pieces, building up from basic images to more complex ones as the day goes on. I provide plenty of source material for inspiration, but please do bring along any simple images, sketches or photos you might want to try.
All materials and equipment included.
PPE (face shields, gloves, aprons) will be available.
Tea and coffee making facilities are available but&nbsp;you are welcome to bring your own refreshments or pop to one of our local cafes or bakeries.

Alongside my regular one day group classes (details of those can be seen on my website)&nbsp; I&nbsp; run these on demand private one-on-one classes. These are for individuals or private groups who want to have my full attention, either to create a larger piece with my close guidance or now in these COVID times to limit their exposure to others.&nbsp;
The class will be personally designed around the technique or project that is the focus. The course can cover both "Tiffany" copper foiling and leaded styles and both of these can be explored in these classes or even hybrid techniques. &nbsp;There is also opportunity for doing kiln fired glass painting, silver staining and enamelling. As I use superfast Dutch Gas kilns we can actually paint fire and combine work in a piece in the space of a single day. The joy of these classes is you bring your own ideas! &nbsp;You can contact to discuss by email the practicality of attempting a particular piece so that the day is tailored to your needs. I have had a whole range of couples, friends, hen and stag groups and family groups and produced some truely beautiful pieces on these private days. As an established business with over 15 years of experience of Glasswork and Teaching as Le Breton Traditional I have lots of examples of different projects that you can undertake if you need inspiration.
The course cost is &pound;315 for up to 3 participants. Additional participants can be added if required at an extra cost of &pound;85 per person. Please enquire for possible dates that can be arranged.&nbsp;

In 1.5 hours you can usually make approx 2-3 items including 1 small piece like jewellery and then a larger piece eg: coasters, hanging panels, tree decorations etc. &nbsp;The one-off lesson is suitable for people who want to learn the basic techniques of a new craft which might lead to a new hobby and if you are interested I can talk you through the equipment needed etc. Or you can just come to try something new and enjoy the creative experience. It is a great gift idea for someone who enjoys trying new things!&nbsp;Glass fusing is where pieces of coloured glass are cut and layered, put into a kiln and fused together to make jewellery, coasters or decorative window hangings (sun-catchers) etc. Glass comes in many forms and cutting is not always needed and you don&#39;t need any artistic ability! Learning to cut and shape different flowers.
We will try to cut as many different flowers that we can fit into the day. I will provide a file of templates for you to take home and we will explore the different types of glass along with the difficulties associated with each. 
I will demonstrate the cutting and shaping for you to follow and, when you feel confident, we will fix your flowers to tape so that you can use these in your own project at a later date.
