Your booking is private for you/your group only. I run classes in glass fusing for up to 6 people in Worcester for beginners and those who have done it a few times before and want to explore more techniques. Bring a friend (or a few!) - it is great fun to have fellow learners to bounce ideas off and you can book a date and time to suit you. In 1.5 hours you can usually make approx 2-3 items including 1 small piece like jewellery and then a larger piece eg: coasters, hanging panels, tree decorations etc. The one-off lesson is suitable for people who want to learn the basic techniques of a new craft which might lead to a new hobby and if you are interested I can talk you through the equipment needed etc. Or you can just come to try something new and enjoy the creative experience. It is a great gift idea for someone who enjoys trying new things!
Glass fusing is where pieces of coloured glass are cut and layered, put into a kiln and fused together to make jewellery, coasters or decorative window hangings (sun-catchers) etc. Glass comes in many forms and cutting is not always needed and you don't need any artistic ability! I provide plenty of ideas for inspiration.
Here is the detail:
• 1-1 or 1-2 or 1-3 etc. tuition can be arranged at a time to suit you throughout the year. The more people in the booking, the price reduces per person. Your booking is for a private class and you won't be mixing with others. (Age 10-16 accompanied by paying adult)
• A lesson includes the glass materials and metal inclusions, jewellery fixings and the firing of your pieces - usually around 2-3 items: jewellery and either a sun-catcher or coaster and other smaller pieces too which will be ready to collect in 1-2 weeks. (Postage can be arranged at cost if preferred.)
• The studio is equipped with a large range of coloured glass in different sizes and formats, various glitters and metal inclusions, kiln fibre, appropriate tools and safety equipment and an electric kiln.
• If you have a particular project you want to try out (e.g. sun-catcher or coaster) then we will discuss how you can achieve that in the time available.
A craft lesson makes a great unusual gift for a fun creative activity to do together. You can get in contact to arrange a date and time that would suit. I am very flexible for evenings or daytime slots. I am flexible and open to longer classes up to whole day classes and I also combine courses with my husband who is a potter. I also run enamelling classes and offer a "Glass Experience Day" where you can try stained glass, fused glass and enamelling in 1 fun day!
I offer you a tea or coffee at the start and all materials and equipment are provided as well as the firing of all your pieces and any jewellery bails fixed for you after the class.
