Where a workplace first aid risk assessment identifies aneed for an Emergency First Aider in the Workplace, this one-day qualification meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981! Syllabus A range of subjects are covered including:- • Responsibilities and reporting • Resuscitation and AED awareness • Burns • Assessment of the situation • Anatomy • Choking • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty • Minor injuries • Epilepsy • Basic hygiene in First Aid • Bleeding control • Shock Certification Practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor, and a three year qualification will be issued to those who satisfy the criteria. In addition, the HSE strongly recommend that all students undergo an annual refresher programme of three hours. All candidates receive a NUCO Emergency First Aid Booklet.
The Refrigeration Electrics 1 day course is aimed at anyone involved with refrigeration, air conditioning & heat pumps electrical control systems The course covers the three elements which are common to most refrigeration and air conditioning systems: protection, control, and motors. A typical refrigeration system will have protection provided by the fuse in the fused connection unit, further protection provided to the cable feeding the fused unit – probably by a circuit breaker, control provided by thermostat/time clock, etc, motor driven fans, pump & compressor. The aim of the course is to provide enough knowledge to allow maintenance and fault finding to be carried out safely and effectively.

You have 2 options here: Emergency Paediatric First Aid (EPFA) is a 1 day course designed to prepere you for worst case scenarios with children and babies. 1 day face to face 9am untill 4pm Paediatric First Aid Blended (PFAB) is a 2 day course covering everything from EPFA above and adding on a range of additional conditions and injuries you may need to deal with when caring for children. 2 days, 1 online in your own time and 1 classroom day 9am to 5.15 pm First Aid Training is a relaxed and enjoyable day, assessment will not be stressful, we aim to help you learn and support you to get what you need from the day. There are some practical and some multiple choice assessments for First Aid qualifications. First Aid can be quite physical, you will need to be able to kneel on the floor to perform CPR and recovery position.
This first aid course is ideal for primary and nursery school teachers, child minders and child careers. Learn how to manage emergency situations or minor everyday occurrences when looking after infants through to teenagers. Qualification meets the criteria defined for first aid training in the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework (EYFS) and Ofsted first aid requirements for registered childminders. It can also be used as evidence for employees working towards an NVQ in Childcare and Education. Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of training and be able to perform tasks at floor level. There are no other formal entry requirements but we strongly recommend that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
