Our 201 Enthusiast day was created for the hyper-enthusiast who wants to correct and enhance their own vehicle, rather than just care for it. If you've attended our 101 Enthusiast, you're all covered skills-wise for the prior knowledge element, but for all others to benefit from this event you will need a solid knowledge of preparation work and wash procedure, as this is mostly focussed on what comes after - namely paint correction. Refreshments are included on this intensive one-day group course, and there is time allotted at the end of the session to inspect your own vehicles if you need advice on particular issues.   Availability If no dates are showing as available in the calendar, you can sign up for updates to find out when new dates are released and new course developments. During the day we will be covering: Compound types and chemistry. Paint types and how to approach them. Pre-work decon wash, including clay and clay pads, decon pros/cons. Masking and surface protection tips. Lighting and inspection technique. Machine work, including Dual Action and Forced Rotation polishers, to correct and enhance the paint surface. Deeper defect removal, scratch hand sanding. Coatings, including ceramic and polymer, and their application. The day concludes with a Q&A session with a walk around your vehicles to advise on any issues. This is quite an intense day as we are trying to fit so much in, so we will be running from 9.30am until 16:00, with a break for lunch. You will have hands-on experience all day and will be working your way through all steps of a full correction, it will then be up to you to build on the knowledge you have gained by practising on your own vehicle, with ongoing support if needed. The course is run from our fully equipped studio in the heart of Gloucestershire, with easy access to the M4/M5, and under an hour and a half to the M25. About this Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) The 5 half-day Piping Stress Engineering Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) course will systematically expose participants to: The theory and practice of piping stress engineering, with special reference to ASME B 31.1 and ASME B 31.3 Standards. The basic principles and theories of stress and strain and piping stress engineering, through a series of lessons, case study presentations, in-class examples, multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and mandatory exercises. Principal stresses and shear stresses which form the backbone of stress analysis of a material. Expressions for these quantities will be derived using vector algebra from fundamentals. Thermal stress-range, sustained and occasional stresses, code stress equations, allowable stresses, how to increase flexibility of a piping system, cold spring. The historical development of computational techniques from hand calculations in the 1950s to the present-day software. A net is an openwork fabric in which threads are fused, looped or knotted at their intersections at regular intervals and have long been used for fishing and trapping animals, as hammocks, or simply as a means of carrying things around. So we’ve put together this net making course to show you how to make your own net from entirely natural materials so that you can go away and make your own net for a variety of situations. You’ll start the day by looking at natural cordage as you’ll need cordage to make your net! We’ll discuss various plants and trees that can be used to make cordages, such as nettles, brambles, lime bast and the inner bark of sweet chestnut. With the materials prepared, we’ll show you how to make a simple 2 ply cord and then, How to plait, braid or ply them. From there you’ll move on to net making itself and will cover: The various netting tools available and different materials they can be made from, How to begin a net, How to change the size and shape of your net, How to finish off your net, How to join nets together to make a bigger one. By the end of this net making course you will have the skills and knowledge to make your own nets from scratch, either for fishing or trapping small game, or even to make your very own net bag!
