Using folk art motifs as inspiration, the aim is to produce a central image and a border of small block printed fabrics in the beginning of the session. These will then be collaged and added to with lace, ribbon and stitch.
Anne Kelly is a mixed media and textile artist, author and tutor living and working in the UK. Her richly layered and embroidered works are reminiscent of tapestries and have been applied to a variety of surfaces. She exhibits locally and internationally, often combining exhibitions with teaching. She&#39;s also the author of Textile Folk Art, a&nbsp;practical and inspirational guide to textile folk art from cultures all around the world, accompanied by step-by-step projects, published in 2018. From samplers to quilts in Europe, to tribal and nomadic cloth further afield in Mongolia and China, folk and traditional designs have played a crucial part in the development of textile art and craft.

Brought up on an organic smallholding, he learnt a huge amount from his parents who ran a box scheme in the 1990&#39;s. After his Horticulture degree at Reading University he and Kate came across the opportunity at Trill Farm to rent 2.5 acres to run their own market gardening business. They now rent 5 acres and sell salad and other vegetables and herbs to around 20 different restaurants, cafes and caterers almost all within 8 miles of the farm.</div>

From layout and shape to color placement and professional finishing, this 12-week course will guide you through every step with personalized assistance from expert crochet tutor, Merrian. You&#39;ll also be part of a small community of crochet students, all making the sweater together over the 12 weeks. “Design & Make Your Own Granny Square Sweater Course” is a 5 week masterclass, spread over 7 weeks, which allows you to create a unique garment.
The course covers layout, shape, sizing and colour placement. Design your own sweater using the classic granny square pattern. We’ll cover different types of joining techniques from Join-as-you-go to the continuous Japanese method. Using either DK or 4ply/fingering weight yarn, you’ll learn how to get the right fit – whether you’re making the sweater for yourself or someone else.
Skill Level
You must be confident with basic crochet stitches and techniques – not suitable for complete beginners.

Expectations
The purpose of the course is to teach you how to plan out and implement the design, get you started with the project, as well as cover some of the other key elements of making a granny square sweater. It is up to you whether you go at your own pace or attempt to complete the sweater over the 7 week time span. It goes without saying, that you will need to spend time outside of the class making the motifs and other elements of the sweater.
Below is a rough guide to the curriculum, this may vary depending on how quickly we get through things and how much help people need for their individual designs.
Week 1 : Introduction and overview of the types of sweater you can make. Joining techniques. How to swatch.
Week 2 : Using your swatch to plan & design your sweater layout.
2 Weeks over Easter: no classes – you’ll be using this time to make the bulk of your motifs. Email /WhatsApp support is provided for checking/approving designs.
Week 3 : Neck shaping & seaming.
Week 4 : Cuffs and hems.

Week 5: Finishing techniques.

Materials Required
How much yarn will I need? – Unfortunately, it is a bit of a chicken and egg situation. If you already know what yarn you’re using, please bring it to the first class. If not, the first class will help you decide. During week 2 we work out the precise quantities.
Example: I am a size 12, for a regular granny square sweater, I usually need just under 6 x100g skeins of 4ply, that’s roughly 2000m or 2190 yds.
How many colours? – I recommend at least 5 colours, but you can use more or less depending on your personal preference.
Yarn thickness – my preferred yarn thickness for these kinds of sweaters is 4ply/fingering or sock weight yarn because they are very wearable and have good drape. However, you can use DK weight yarn but please be aware that this will create a reasonably bulky and very warm garment. I do not recommend yarn thicker than DK as it makes a very bulky, boiling hot sweater that may not drape well.
Yarn composition – I would strongly recommend natural yarns such as merino wool or cotton or blends thereof. Or at least yarns with less than 20% nylon/synthetic material. Acrylic yarns do not work very well in these types of garments because the yarn has no stitch memory and poor drape. Additionally, I try to discourage the use of acrylic since it’s a product of the petro-chemical industry, is toxic to manufacture and leaches microplastics in to the environment.
What to bring to the first class? – When you sign up, you’ll receive more information about what’s required on the first session.
Hooks – You’ll need the correct hook size for your yarn. This will range from 2.5mm to 4mm depending on your yarn choice, personal gauge and again, this is discussed in the email when you sign up and the first class.

Figurative Sculpture
In this day long course we will explore all aspects of creating a life size clay sculpture of a characterful human face. We will also start to explore the creation of a &lsquo;beautiful&rsquo; face that you will be able to take home to finish&hellip; it can take many hours to complete something as complex.
We will be using a special armature unique to the Sculpture Workshop and a wonderfully forgiving specialist clay. We&rsquo;ll explore how expression and emotion manifest on the face.
This workshop is great fun and light hearted, we don&rsquo;t use jargon or judgement, anyone of any ability can join us and have a brilliant time engaging with their own creative potential.

This course will explain all aspects of the rules of origin and trade agreements and how to understand and comply with them to help companies be more competitive in export markets.
As exporters and Importers, we should be encouraged to trade with countries which we have preferential trading agreements with. The course will help you understand why the following documentations are required – EUR1 and ATR movement certificates with the consignment so that our customers can import the goods either duty-free or at a reduced rate.
Rules of origin are the major factor in FTA agreements and we will learn how this is calculated and the benefits of having UK origin.

Thank you for choosing to develop your skills in dog walking and sitting. By completing this course, you'll gain the essential tools and knowledge to begin your journey toward a profitable and rewarding career. The course is organized into sections and sub-sections, each designed to break down the material into manageable chunks. After each section, you’ll be asked to answer multiple-choice questions, all of which are based on the content you’ve just reviewed. These questions are meant to test your understanding and ensure that you've grasped the material.
There are no trick questions. The goal is simply to check your knowledge and help you assess your learning.
At the end of the course, you’ll have 100 multiple-choice questions that cover all the sections you've completed. These questions will help you review and apply the information you've learned. Additionally, you'll be asked to submit an action plan as part of your course requirements.

This course is exclusively available to new users as part of a developmental learning program. It also includes a Level 2 Digital Marketing Course, which we offer on another platform. You are welcome to register your interest by booking a spot in this course.
