This one-day course is a must for all construction operatives! Not only is this a legal requirement under CDM 2015, but if your Company is accredited to CHAS or similar SSIP schemes you must be able to demonstrate that suitable training has been provided to your staff. The Construction Design & Management Regulations 2015 (CDM) sets the requirement for all workers to have the right skills, knowledge, training, and experience. Aims To give a clear understanding of Regulations & Legislation that applies to construction work and is an ideal refresher for any operative that has previously completed training in Health & Safety. An introduction to the safe use of routers, direction of cut, holding the workpiece, PPE and dust control. Different methods of working with a router, guided handheld, free-hand, and table mounted.

Course Objectives The delegates are able to demonstrate: knowledge of hazards and risks associated with working at heights, specific to WTG (Wind Turbine Generator). understanding of current national legislation regarding working at heights. correct identification of PPE, including identification of European/Global standard markings e.g. harness, hard hat, lanyards, etc. knowledge and skills to correctly inspect, service, store and don the relevant PPE, e.g. harness, lanyards, fall arresters and work positioning equipment. correct use of the relevant PPE, e.g.harness lanyards, fall arresters and work positioning equipment. This includes correct identification of anchor points and correct ladder conduct. correct use of evacuation devices. how to approach rescue situations in WTGs and use rescue equipment efficiently.

The delegates are able to demonstrate: The participants are able to demonstrate knowledge of hazards and risks associated with working at height specific to a wind turbine generator (WTG) (L2 – Knowledge) The participants are able to demonstrate understanding of current national and regional legislation regarding working at height (L2 – Knowledge) The participants are able to demonstrate correct identification of PPE, including identification of Global and regional standard markings e.g. harness, hard hat, lanyards, etc. (L3 – Skills) The participants are able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills to correctly perform pre-use inspection, service, store and correctly fit relevant PPE, e.g. harness, fall arrest lanyards, guided type fall arrest lanyards and work positioning lanyards (L2 – Knowledge & L3 – Skills) The participants are able to demonstrate correct use of the relevant PPE, e.g. harnesses fall arrest lanyards, guided type fall arresters and work positioning lanyards. Due to ongoing Health and Safety precautions we are limiting class sizes to 8 people, for all of our sessions, for the time being. PPE (face shields, gloves and aprons) and hand sanitiser will be available for all of our workshops. Tea and coffee making facilities will be available but you are also welcome to bring your own refreshments or pop to one of our local cafes or bakeries.

The Level 1 Award in Construction Health & Safety is required by individuals who are looking to become eligible for the Green CSCS Card. A CSCS Card is required in order to access many construction sites, carry out basic duties and build relevant experience to enable them to progress their career onto the next stage allowing them to progress to a level 2 or 3 Qualification. This Level 1 Award will provide the basic knowledge and understanding of health and safety principles and procedures and delivers a comprehensive and technical overview in relation to many construction relevant topics that are operatives require in order to operate safely within the Construction sector. Topics covered include Risk Assessment, Manual Handling, Working at Heights, Moving Vehicles, Dust, Hazardous Substances, Asbestos, Welfare, Personal Hygiene, Fire, Work Equipment, Electricity, Underground Services, PPE, Mandatory signage and more!!!!! Candidates can undertake this qualification in a classroom based delivery followed by the CSCS test within a single day. The administration and photographs are included and the CSCS card is usually received within 5 to 10 days. The one day course can be delivered in any client venue or at various locations around the UK.
