Course Details Any persons carrying out non-licensed works with asbestos containing materials, as laid down in CAR 2012, Reg 3(2). This would normally include, but is not limited to, trade operatives such as demolition workers, construction workers, general maintenance staff, electricians, plumbers, gas fitters, painters and decorators, joiners, shop fitters, plasterers, roofers, heating and ventilation engineers, telecommunication engineers, computer installers, fire and burglar alarm installers, architects, building surveyors and other such professionals or any other persons likely to disturb and carry out work on asbestos containing materials as defined in CAR 2012.

Paediatric First Aid (12 Hour) Description: This two-day paediatric first aid course focuses on emergency scenarios that face those looking after young children and infants, including day nurseries, private nursery schools, pre-schools, before and after school clubs for children in the early years age group, childminders, parents and carers of children at home. Designed around the needs of all child carers, our paediatric first aid courses place emphasis on dealing with sick or injured children and babies. Our 12 hour course syllabus exceeds the Ofsted Early Years and Childcare Register requirements. Our professional trainers utilise both practical and theory sessions. Learners receive a Paediatric First Aid guide book, a training dressing and a CPR barrier protection device.Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and care of the unconscious requires physical effort. Learners should be capable of working with casualties at floor level. Learners are assessed continually by the trainer. The HSE strongly recommend that all First Aiders undertake annual refresher training of at least 3 hours per year. Come and join Janine at Stitching Kitchen for a weekend learning how to make a log cabin quilt. This workshop will take place over two full Saturdays. It is suitable for total novices, taking you through everything you need to know to build confidence in quilt-making. If you are a more experienced quilter, you will enjoy learning a new technique that has so many creative possiblities, and you can benefit from Janine’s years of experience to pick up tips and tricks for a professional, polished quilt. Log cabin quilting gets its name from the layout of the pieces - log-shaped strips built up around a central square, or ‘hearth’. It's a great quilt for getting through your scraps. Or, you can use precut 2 ½-inch strips, like Jelly Rolls, which make the process easier and just as enjoyable. Log cabin quilting is really versatile because the fabric choices, layouts and positioning can be used to make such a huge range of patterns. Your tutor Janine also holds monthly long-arm clinics at Stitching Kitchen that you'd be welcome to drop into if you'd like any further pointers, or would like to outsource the quilt finishing to her! What you will learn/achieve Skills in measuring, cutting and sewing this traditional block. How to create a huge range of patterns with your fabric choices, layouts and positioning. If you’re not yet comfortable with a rotary cutter and ruler, you can use precut 2 ½-inch strips, like Jelly Rolls, which make the process easier and just as enjoyable. We will send you a materials list, but just give us a call or drop in to the studio if you would like further advice, and we can also make suggestions about where to purchase quilting fabric. You won’t need to bring anything else and you can leave your sewing machine at home. Stitching Kitchen is fully equipped with Pfaff sewing machines and all the quilting tools and sewing kit for use during the workshop. Stitching Kitchen also stocks a full range of haberdashery, batting and quilting tools if you discover anything you would like to purchase to use at home. How To Paint & Upholster Furniture Course Workshop Description  You have asked us if you can come along to ReVamp Boutique and transform a chair using paint and reupholster its drop in seat ( or very similar) with fabric. So yes! You now can! You will be using traditional upholstering techniques on your chair. painting your chair using colours from Sophie James Décor which are included in the workshop and can be selected on the day as we stock their whole range. All tools, paint and other upholstery materials will be available and provided as part of the course. Although you will be working on your own piece throughout the day, alternative inspiration and techniques will be discussed. A fun, relaxed workshop for any level!  You will have a transformed piece to take home with you. You will need to bring: A chair with a drop in seat Your chosen upholstery fabric A picture of your chosen chair and upholstery fabric will need to be emailed to us latest 5 days before the start of the workshop What's Included: A light lunch & tea and coffee will be provided on this One Day Workshop.
