You have 2 options here: Emergency Paediatric First Aid (EPFA) is a 1 day course designed to prepere you for worst case scenarios with children and babies. 1 day face to face 9am untill 4pm Paediatric First Aid Blended (PFAB) is a 2 day course covering everything from EPFA above and adding on a range of additional conditions and injuries you may need to deal with when caring for children. 2 days, 1 online in your own time and 1 classroom day 9am to 5.15 pm First Aid Training is a relaxed and enjoyable day, assessment will not be stressful, we aim to help you learn and support you to get what you need from the day. There are some practical and some multiple choice assessments for First Aid qualifications. First Aid can be quite physical, you will need to be able to kneel on the floor to perform CPR and recovery position.

Our engaging Public Venue First Aid Courses attract a wide range of workplaces and are conducted in a way which means that we can qualify those who need the standard HSE Compliant Workplace Courses, as well as those professionals who work with children, requiring the Ofsted recognition. HOW THE DAY WORKS 0900-1600 ALL learners undertake the HSE Recognised face to face learning with one of our experienced trainers. 1600-1700 Paediatric (EPFA & PFA) learners undertake an additional 1hr workshop, the Ofsted Recognised face to face learning with one of our experienced trainers. Blended Learning Those who require the 2 day Paediatric First Aid Courses are required to do an additional 6 hours of online learning, which will be provided by Certifi Training. Paediatric first aid training: What will you learn? The course covers everything listed below. There will be practical demonstrations, role playing and several activities to keep things moving along. You’ll use the whole range of paediatric first equipment, and will try out your newly learned techniques on my adult, child and baby mannequins. I’m happy to tailor the content with additions. If you want me to focus on a specific area of paediatric first aid, that’s fine. Here’s what you’ll learn: Responsibilities and reporting requirements Assessing a medical situation How to perform CPR Resuscitation and using a defibrillator Treatment of an unconscious casualty, and the recovery position Choking Head injuries Seizures, including febrile convulsions Bleeding and shock Burns and scalds Fainting Anaphylaxis, and using an EpiPen Diabetes and asthma emergencies Foreign objects Eye injuries Sprains, strains and fractures Heat and cold Sickle cell anaemia and meningitis
