“Most people thinking about suicide don’t want to die, they want the pain to stop, recognising the signs that someone is thinking about suicide is critical as is the ability to listen and to support that person away from wanting to take their own life” Programme Overview: This 1 day in-person programme provides Learners with the foundational knowledge and practical skills needed to effectively intervene in situations where someone may be contemplating suicide. Designed for individuals across various professions and community roles, this programme equips you with the tools to recognise the signs of suicide, initiate life-saving conversations, and connect at-risk individuals with appropriate resources. Whether you're a healthcare professional, educator, HR personnel, or concerned community member, this programme empowers you to make a real difference. Key Learning Outcomes: Understanding Suicide and Its Causes: Gain insights into the complex factors that can lead to thoughts of suicide and suicide behaviours, including mental health issues, emotional distress, and societal pressures. Recognising Signs: Learn how to identify the verbal, behavioural, and situational indicators that someone may be thinking of suicide. Effective Communication Techniques: Develop skills to engage in sensitive and supportive conversations, helping to de-escalate crises and offer hope to those in need. Immediate Intervention Strategies: Acquire practical tools and approaches for providing immediate support, including how to refer individuals to mental health professionals and other resources. Ethical Considerations: Understand the ethical responsibilities involved in suicide prevention, including confidentiality, consent, and the importance of self-care. Programme Format and Duration: This is a concise, focused programme delivered in person and lasting 1 day. The programme includes a mix of interactive presentations, real-life case studies, and role-playing exercises to ensure Learners leave with practical, actionable skills. Who Should Attend: Anyone in a position to support individuals with thoughts of suicide, including healthcare providers, educators, HR managers, community leaders, and social workers. No prior experience in mental health or suicide prevention is required. Certification: Upon completion, Learners can gain the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) Level 4 Award in Suicide First Aid®. This is a written assignment and upon completion Learners will receive an official qualification certificate from RSPH. Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAiders®) are vital to helping boost employee wellbeing as we adjust to a completely changed workplace environment.

It is vitally important that all adults working with a child with Down syndrome understands their learning needs and how to meet these needs. All teaching staff are welcome to join our Introduction to Down syndrome course for FREE. It will run at the beginning of each term. To enhance your practice further we suggest staff working closely with the child are also trained in signing, using visuals to support language development and teaching basic number skills. Each term these additional three courses will follow on from the Introduction to Down syndrome course over several weeks.

This module focuses on developing leadership confidence through self-discovery, emphasising the importance of understanding one's unique leadership style and personal philosophy. Participants will explore their core identity as leaders and learn strategies to enhance their influence, credibility, and relationships within their organisation. Vectorworks Evening Course face to face One to one

This course is ideal for all, from beginners to confident makers with only a few hours to spare. You will learn the basics of leather craft for accessories and be introduced to techniques including machine stitching on leather, hand finishing and hand cutting. You will be working with a hard sturdy veg tanned leather. This is a perfect introductory course to start your journey into Leatherwork and bag making as you will experience the wide variety of tasks involved in the work. In order to complete your belt in a day we will use part pre-prepared components and the purse will be made from a 'Hands of Tym' pattern but do not fear there is still plenty of work for you to do. During the day you will be directed by your tutor Leathersmith and London College of Fashion Lecturer Georgie Tym to make a 'raw edge' Belt sized to fit you exactly with opportunity for personalisation. There will be one buckle as closure and the opportunity to choose leather colours to enable a bespoke piece. The dimensions of the belt are either W38mm or W25mm - length will depend on you! It will be the same design and construction as the belt in the photos featured. The course will be run from the HOME STUDIO of Hands Of Tym in Banbury, Oxfordshire, OX16 9DH Maximum class size is 4 What's included in the price? There are NO ADDITIONAL costs. All leather, hardware and other materials will be included. There will be a selection of leather and hardware colours for you to choose from.The course runs from 2.30pm – 5pm or 10am - 12.30 on a morning session.
