The RYA Start Yachting course is designed to give a taste of sailing over two days and nights and requires no previous experience. The course is for beginners who are interested in sailing. Our experienced instructors will guide you through health and safety and make sure that you are comfortable. We can advise on clothing for the trip too. You will live on board one of our yachts for the weekend, with up to four other crew members plus the instructor. There will be a mixture of experience which means that there will be other crew members who can give you a helping hand. Cooking will be shared between the crew to add to the experience. By the end of the weekend you will have learnt how to steer a course, handle the lines, tie knots - and, most importantly, find out if you have a natural talent or just love sailing!

ALLMI Lorry Loader -1 Day Refresher - 11th November 2023 -Periodic 7 Hour CPC Course  Equipment used - Lorry mounted cranes and Hook attachments.  Who Would Do This Training? Anyone who operates or intends to be operating lorry mounted cranes (sometimes referred to as HIAB’s) should undertake training as is required by the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998. The courses are made to suit novice operators, experienced operators, those refreshing their training, or for attachment conversions. The courses are designed to ensure the efficient and safe operation of equipment. HIAB is really a brand name and the correct term for the equipment is ‘lorry mounted crane’ or ‘lorry loader crane’ (when mounted to a commercial vehicle). Other manufacturers of these types of cranes include Atlas, Cormach, Fassi, HMF, Hyva, Palfinger, Penny Hydraulics and PM. Which Industries Train with ALLMI? The ALLMI Lorry Loader Course is recognised by CSCS. The Lorry Loader Crane courses and Slinger Signaller courses, certificated by ALLMI, cover a wide variety of hydraulic cranes, both manually and electronically operated. Candidates and businesses can select the attachments they will be using depending on their needs and equipment. About this Training Course This course will provide detailed learning to the various aspects of the design, analysis and operation of subsea control systems for a variety of field development options to allow effective management of subsea facilities either from offshore structures or from shore bases. This will include power and telemetry focussing on electrical, hydraulic and electro-hydraulic systems, shut down systems, and application of intelligent monitoring and 'smart' fields. Training Objectives By attending this course, participants will be able to: To provide detailed knowledge and understanding of the requirements for, and design of, subsea electrical, electro-hydraulic, hydraulic and programmable control systems. Knowledge of the components and uses of a wide variety of subsea control systems the requirements for and design implications, of umbilicals and control lines (power and telemetry) Knowledge of, and ability to model, power requirements subsea and detailed understanding of the requirements and objectives of pre-commissioning, both at the factory and in situ. Knowledge of the standards involved in design of equipment, control and application of manual and automatic shut-down valves, and emergency response systems Introduction to design of redundancy and the role of spare capacity and to be able to put this knowledge to effect to contribute to detailed field design.
