You may have heard the saying, 'There is no I in the team'! Well, we beg to differ. We ask leaders and managers to focus on the individuals in the team so that they get the most out of the whole team.
This thinking comes from our belief in Emotional Intelligence (EI). With EI, you can reach for the sky, but without EI, your dreams will die. If team members are unaware (or don’t care) that their behaviour negatively impacts others, they will continue to behave like that. When we become self-aware, we have the opportunity to behave differently, which is a really important moment as the team needs to know how to encourage this positive behaviour.
High-performing teams (HPTs) are united in their approach. No one is left behind, everyone is vigilant of each other, and mental health check-ins are a daily ritual, not just a task. This level of cohesion is not a coincidence but a result of leaders and managers fostering a culture of care and support within a psychologically safe environment.
HPTs operate as a collective unit, with minimal need for a Team Manager or Leader. They share a common concern for each other, driven by the shared objective of achieving team-based goals and outputs. This collective responsibility is a testament to their mutual support and shared accountability.
There may well be individual tasks or even KPIs, but they will all work collaboratively to ensure that everyone works well together, that no one slacks or repeats mistakes and that any of them will step in to help with workloads when they can without being asked.
Our workshop examines all the ingredients of the HPT, reverse engineers the recipe, and discusses each aspect, leaving everyone with a clear picture of how to create and maintain their own HPT.
LENGTH - For more information about duration, please get in touch with us to discuss your specific needs, or we can offer advice.
NEXT WORKSHOP START - Please ask for more information as we deliver bespoke closed events for your people at your location or a mutually suitable location.
WORKSHOP DELIVERY - The best environment for this workshop is face-to-face, but we can facilitate this workshop online.
Who? All those who lead or manage others.
Why? All leaders and managers must fully understand the hard work and challenges involved in creating and maintaining a high-performing team (HPT).
Ask yourself: Why do some teams seem chaotic, dysfunctional, ill-tempered, and full of infighting? Answer: Their manager/leader does not know how to fix their people's behaviour.
This workshop will give leaders and managers the tools they need to create HPTs. However, it will take hard work, commitment, and an assertive mindset from the leader/manager and the whole team.
Groups vs Teams?
What are the ingredients of an HPT?
How do they work so well together?
Amygdala/Emotional hijack or control (Emotional Intelligence)?
Values, Behaviours, ES2, Environment/Culture and your 'People Strategy.'
We examine styles, delegation, collective leadership, and remote workers when determining how to lead/manage a team.
Saboteurs and challenging people’s attitudes or poor performance (people leave people).
Our ES2/psychological safety thinking and why we MUST make this happen.
An analysis of our reality using our HPT Assessment tool.
Discussing and agreeing on actions that need to be taken.
This workshop, which usually lasts one day, focuses solely on how we build and maintain HPTs.
However, it can be a two-day event incorporating aspects of Emotional Intelligence (EI), Communicating Effectively, and Managing My Day with group and individual activities to allow discussion.
When you consider the content we deliver, we are sure you will understand why we always prefer to deliver our workshops, courses and programmes face-to-face.
Face-to-face workshops and courses can be held at a location of your choice or, if you wish, a central UK location, such as the Macdonald Burlington Hotel in Birmingham, located directly across from the Birmingham New Street train station.
We can deliver our workshops, courses and programmes online, although this will mean splitting elements into manageable learning events to suit the online environment.
No, our prices include ALL of our expenses. So the price you are quoted is the price you pay.
We strongly recommend groups of three up to a maximum of 12 and no more. We can "occasionally" make exceptions.
On the Train the Trainer, it is a maximum of 6 people due to each person delivering their training sessin, the video recording and individual feedback on the last day.
1. We offer lifetime short post-event support for all our events for up to two years.
2. Our reputation is built and maintained by ensuring you attain the ROI you need. Our post-event support helps you achieve this.
3. We offer bolt-on sessions at a reduced rate as required for up to one year.
4. Our pricing is all-inclusive, ensuring you won't be surprised by additional expenses.
5. Mac Macdonald (our lead facilitator) has extensive hands-on experience in all types of organisations and industries, including his military service, where he taught leadership, management, train the trainer and communication skills.
6. Fully downloadable online PDF handouts for your workshops, courses and programmes which are regularly updated.
7. Our delivery style is not a lecture but a series of in-depth discussions on the topics, ensuring what we deliver to your people isn't just informative but also relevant to their working environment.
8. For organisations with neurodiverse (ND) colleagues, Mac Macdonald will always deliver your events, as he is diagnosed as autistic (high functioning) and can personally relate to ND people and their needs.
9. Mac attained his master's in how emotional intelligence impacts leadership and management.
10. We directly fund our own charity, FLOW for ALL (Forces Literary Organisation Worldwide for ALL).
Whilst initially focussed on serving military and veterans, the charity now supports anyone impacted by PTSD from any trauma and other mental issues by writing, sharing, and commenting on each other's work.
