Learn how to measure, cut and stitch accurate patchwork quilt blocks in this one day workshop. Part of a 4 day quilt course, but suitable as a stand alone class too. This class is a great class to take after the beginners class as the sewing will be mostly straight lines and it will allow you to practice more seams and other skills learned in the beginners class. You will need to know how to handle a sewing machine for this class but it's very much still a class that's achievable for beginners. You will cover design, measuring, cutting, the use of various tools, and stitching.

In this class we will talk about different kinds of wadding and will learn about the quilting together of all the layers with either straight lines or freemotion stitching. Then we will learn to bind our mini quilts (bring the mini quilt tops we created in earlier classes, or bring your own) Wadding and thread all included in the price, as well as a copy of my In Stitches sewing handbook. Learn to use your overlocker! Bring your overlocker to class and I will teach you all you need to know about threading it, changing it from 3/4 thread and back, changing the needles, adjusting stitch length and differential feed etc. I only have one overlocker here and in any case it is definititely something you want to do on your own, so you will need to bring your machine to this class.

Heart centred Qi-Gong with Emma Sunday 9th June 2024 10am-1pm Price: £40  Welcome to the Sunhouse for another blissful morning of Qi-Gong and meditation. In this summer session we will be exploring the FIRE element through heart centred Qi-Gong.  Imagine bare-feet on the grass, absorbing the morning sunlight on your skin, serenaded by the sounds of the forest and smells of fresh blossom filling the air. Let yourself be supported and grounded by nature all around us.  Emma will guide us through a gentle yet powerful Qi-Gong practice, a form of movement meditation helping to clear out energetic blockages so you can feel more connected with your deeper self.  In this summer session we will explore what is know as the three treasures; Jing (Essence), Qi (Energy), Shen (Mind-Spirit). We will begin with active dynamic Qi-Gong exercises working with our ‘Jing’ energy opening our physical body with tapping, self massage and stretches, we will then access the ‘Qi’ energetic level with a focus on our heart Qi through slow flowing movements and breathing practices. Immerse Training is a fully regulated First Aid Training Provider. We love working in schools, nurseries and youth groups teaching young people how to keep each other safe and what to do if something goes wrong. With sessions sessions from 1 hour tasters for every class in a school, to after school first aid clubs, Immerse Training are certain to design a programme that’s right for you, your budget and your children.   We currently deliver First Aid and Life-Saving skills across a variety of settings to groups of children and young people from 4 to 14 years old, when they are able to participate in accredited First Aid courses. All of our First Aid Training for Children courses are designed in collaboration with qualified childcare practitioners and child health clinicians.
