<p>On this evening class you will have the opportunity to make a piece of jewellery from silver clay. Silver clay is relatively new to the world of jewellery making, introduced by Mitsubishi in the early 90&rsquo;s. It is made from tiny particles of reclaimed and recycled silver which are mixed with a non toxic organic binder.</p>
<p>The clay can be rolled, textured, moulded and carved. During firing, the binder burns away and the silver particles sinter so you are left with a beautiful piece of solid silver. There are so many possibilities to create some beautiful jewellery.</p>
<p>In your class you will learn some of the basic techniques needed to create silver clay jewellery and shown how to use the required tools in the workshop.</p>
<p>- Designed for beginners - you need no previous experience or skill!</p>
<p>- Small class numbers so you get plenty of tutor time (5 people max).</p>

You can choose to create a wall hanging or a cushion cover. If you decide to create a cushion cover, you will also learn how to insert a zip. You will see that zips do not have to be scary. We will also cover top stitching and binding.

The Portable Appliance Testing course or PAT testing course as it is more commonly known is one of our most popular courses as it does not require you to have any formal previous qualifications and once completed, will enable you to offer your services. 
In the commercial setting, the law places a responsibility on all employers to ensure that the electrical equipment to be used by their staff and the public, should be fit for purpose and safe for use. Hence, all portable appliances have to be regularly checked and maintained by a competent person. 
Who is eligible to participate in this course?
Although there are no formal requirements, it would be advantageous if you have a basic knowledge of electrical installation and its terminology. If you are a complete novice to the industry, we offer a 3-day option which is designed for complete beginners. The first day will cover all the basics and electrical terminology required to enable you to successfully complete the course.

Course Content
The course will run over 2 days and will be classroom based. 
During these sessions you will cover the statutory and non-statutory requirements, the electrical units, how each class equipment is constructed, both the theory and practical elements of the inspecting and testing and completion of the necessary documentation.


Delivery
The course will run over 3 days which we deliver both during the week and over the weekends. 


Exams & Assessments
Learners will be expected to complete the following assessment at the end of the course:

The Final Exam 
At the end of your training in centre you will be required to complete a log book of evidence showing when skills have been implemented in a working environment.

Exam and assessments
We will be preparing you for the examination(s) that will take place on day 2 or 3 depending on the course you choose. You will be working through the course book and be provided with the necessary work pack, notes and past paper questions, as well as a timed mock test to fully prepare you for both the practical and theory exams. 
The final exam will be conducted as an open book, multiple choice computer based exam. The timed allowed and the number of questions will depend upon which of the above award you take, but on average you will face between 40-50 questions and be given 1 hour to 1 hour 45 minutes to complete.

BRCGS Professional is a learning program that will give you international recognition for the key skills and knowledge essential for product safety management. As a BRCGS Professional you will be well-equipped to manage any GFSI-recognised standard in your business, and able to implement or manage product safety systems. BRCGS is the leading provider of GFSI-recognised Standards globally, respected for quality and brand protection assurance. 


This training program has been designed by the BRCGS Technical team, in response to demands from the industry for training on the skills necessary to implement effective product safety management program.


The courses are subject-specific, train the core skills needed for any product safety individual, and will help with maintaining any GFSI-recognised certification scheme.


The 3-day Fast Track program will comprise of 3 of the following 4 courses:

Risk Assessment – This one-day course will provide delegates with a thorough understanding of risk assessment and enable them to use different risk assessment models.

The course can be completed in stages - you have 8 weeks to complete the course in full. Once completed you will immediately be able to download your pass certificate. Participants will gain competency to assess compliance to the requirements of the Standard, including fundamental clauses, statements of intent, how to undertake a BRCGS audit, planning of the audit and reporting of the audit. Auditing fundamentals and techniques will be discussed including the auditor competency skills required of auditors auditing against Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) recognised certification programmes.</p><p style="color: rgb(var(--color_25)); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;" fr-original-style=" color: rgb(var(--color_25));">Active learning will be used throughout the course utilising case study-based activities to encourage critical thinking and help explain how auditors with audit against the Standard. &nbsp;Participants must have a working knowledge of quality management systems and auditing within the relevant manufacturing sector, and have completed a hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) course of at least two days&#39; duration.</p><p style="color: rgb(var(--color_25)); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;" fr-original-style=" color: rgb(var(--color_25));">In preparation for the course, participants must read and review a copy of the Standard including the glossary, which is available as a free download from the <a href="https://www.brcgs.com/store/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" style="color: inherit; -webkit-user-select: auto; font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box; cursor: pointer; text-decoration: inherit;" fr-original-style=" color: inherit;">BRCGS Store</a>, in addition to the pre-course materials provided.&nbsp;</p><p style="color: rgb(var(--color_25)); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;" fr-original-style=" color: rgb(var(--color_25));">At the end of the course you will be assessed with an exam. Course Summary

This official BRCGS Food Safety issue 9 Lead Auditor course enables participants with an in-depth understanding of the Standard in terms of the protocol, requirements and how to audit effectively. Participants will gain competency to assess compliance to the requirements of the Standard, including fundamental clauses, statements of intent, how to undertake a BRCGS audit, planning of the audit and reporting of the audit. Auditing fundamentals and techniques will be discussed including the auditor competency skills required of Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) scheme auditors.

Active learning will be used throughout the course utilising case study-based individual and group activities to encourage critical thinking and help explain how auditors will audit against the Standard.
