3rd August FREE SAND ART FOR MASTERING PATIENCE AND PROCRASTINATION

5.0(45)

By Art and Spirituality CIC

In a society where we are accustomed to always getting everything right away, patience seems to have become an obsolete virtue. Yet patience is not just the ability to know how to wait and endure - the key is being proactive rather than passive. It becomes that essential mechanism we need when life confronts us with difficulties, from daily annoyances to serious problems. Patience is a form of wisdom that comes from accepting that things have their own time to mature. Procrastination often emerges when we feel pressured to get things "right away" or when tasks feel overwhelming. This workshop reveals how procrastination and impatience are two sides of the same coin - both driven by our discomfort with the natural timing of things. Through sand art, we learn to embrace the process rather than rushing toward outcomes. Cultivating patience is possible. We learn to stay anchored in our breath, especially in those moments where we feel we must immediately react to a situation or avoid it entirely. Learning to be with what is in that moment inside of us - in body, mind, heart - we drop judgment, expectations, and disappointments, instead trying to make friends with what is moving through us, knowing that it is only a moment of passage. Through sand art, we practice this allowing, discovering that steady progress feels better than rushing or avoiding. What You'll Discover: How to transform procrastination from avoidance into mindful pausing The difference between productive patience and passive waiting How to stay present with discomfort instead of rushing or delaying That each grain of sand - like each moment of life - has something to communicate if we listen How slow, creative work can heal our relationship with time and productivity This class is sponsored by Community Fund, Awards for All It is FREE and is aimed at adults, women, etnic minorities, any individuals from low-income background. Suitable for all levels experience. By attending this class you release the teacher, Giada Gaslini and Art and Spirituality Cic, from any liability arising out of any personal injuries, emotional or physical release, death, physical reaction, expectations of results, theft in the venue or damages that may happen to people and objects while attending. 8th August FREE MANDALA PAINTING

By Art and Spirituality CIC

We invite you to a sacred ciorcal art workshop inspired by the monuments of Edinburgh to celebrate 900years. From the famous to the hidden, we will explore the city’s architectural landscape and creatively express its beauty and unique features through mandala painting. The teacher Rachael will open the workshop with a guided meditation, which will include questions to help you explore your relationship with both the well-known and lesser-known parts of the city. We will then research what feels significant to you, from patterns to styles. You’ll have the opportunity to start forming ideas for your mandala. There are many directions you can take in creating your piece—for example, you might draw inspiration from the city’s Gothic architecture as a whole, or focus on specific sculptures at St. Giles’ Cathedral. You may pay particular attention to the symbolically placed flags or the animals scattered throughout the city (e.g., Greyfriars Bobby). The teacher will encourage you to seek inspiration from books in the room, as well as from your own experience, to curate your unique relationship with Edinburgh’s heritage. This could be depicted through spirals, patterns, lines, shapes and textures. The majority of the class will be spent creating mandala-style paintings that are rich in meaning and connected to Edinburgh’s heritage. Materials will be provided, including paints, canvas pads, pens, and pencils. The workshop will close by gathering in a circle, where everyone will be invited to share what they have created and reflect on what resonates with them about the city. This FREE workshop is sponsored by Edinburgh Council- Edinburgh 900 We prioritize our international community in the area of Gorgie-Dalry-Saughton where our studio is based.  By attending this class you release the teacher, Giada Gaslini and Art and Spirituality Cic, from any liability arising out of any personal injuries, emotional or physical release, death, expectations of results, theft in the venue or damages that may happen to people and objects while attending.

10th August FREE MAKE YOUR DREAMS BLOOM: CREATE YOUR DREAM CATCHER

5.0(45)

By Art and Spirituality CIC

Be realistic! Be practical! Ever had someone throw those words at you when you're sharing your biggest dreams? Yeah, we've all been there. The thing is, other people's words and actions can seriously mess with your creative visualization power – they basically clip your manifestation wings and hold you back from what you really want. Once that seed of doubt gets planted, insecurity and fear don't just grow – they become these massive forests that feel impossible to navigate. But here's what we're gonna do about it. Through some deep meditation work, you're gonna release all that stress and those blocks from your past months. You'll start feeling how your feet on the ground can actually be amazing support – not for staying small, but for planting your roots and feeling truly grounded in your power. Your ability to create the life you want comes down to one thing: believing before you can see. It's literally the opposite of "seeing is believing" – and that's where the magic happens. So yeah, I'm gonna ask you to close your eyes and dive into a guided creative visualization of your dreams. This is creation at its most raw and beautiful: when you learn to use your mind to create "something" from "nothing," you can literally achieve and manifest anything. You'll discover how to use your inner compass and understand that every single manifestation is up to you. No one else – just you. And then comes the Making Time – the creative part where you'll craft your beautiful Dream Catcher. We'll explore the origins of this Native American ritual and you'll see how this spiritual tool represents your life through its sacred circle. Making something with your hands is gonna show you that transformation isn't some mysterious thing – it's literally accessible in the palms of your hands. Ready to make your dreams bloom? This class is sponsored by Community Fund, Awards for All and run by Giada Gaslini, from School of Shamanism It is FREE and is aimed at adults, women, etnic minorities, any individuals from low-income background. London Academy of Irish Dance

london academy of irish dance

In September 2016 the London Academy was launched in East London by champion level dancer Erin Coyle. The aim was to provide Irish dance and culture activities to the people from what used to be a heavily Irish influenced area. Erin, who is of Irish descent and grew up in East London, has been dancing since the age of seven and quickly fell in love with the sport and regularly competed all over England until the age of fifteen. After finishing college, and spending a few years establishing a career as a chef in Michelin star restaurants, Erin was offered a job in House of Lords which gave her the weekends off, so at the age of 21, she came back to Irish Dance. In was a matter of months Erin started to compete and quickly climbed to championship level again. Since then she has gained 2nd at All Irelands, 3rd at British, Irish and German Open and in 2018 became a world medal holder for the first time after placing 11th place at the WIDA World Championships. Erin combines her love of travel and Irish dancing and has attended feis (Irish dance competitions) all over Europe including Latvia, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, and Romania as well as all over the UK and Ireland. Travelling is highly encouraged at London Academy as Erin believes it brings new, fun and exciting experiences to dancers and helps to promote Irish dance in areas where the interest is still building. London Academy now offers classes all over London for dancers of all ages (including adults) and abilities. The academy focuses heavily on making Irish dance a fun and interesting way to keep fit and for those who wish to do so may compete and will be provided all the support they need to reach their goals.
