We will come to your school at a time that suits you and run a 2-hour workshop for all staff. We will present in clear and simple terms the school’s duties under the Equality Act, help you guard against discrimination, and leave you with useful resources. How will this workshop help your school? This is a practical, "hands on" workshop designed to be engaging and constructive. Over and above helping your school fulfil its legal duties, it will help ensure that nobody is left behind or discriminated against. The workshop will show how all protected characteristics covered by the Equality Act 2010 can be reflected positively in everyday school life. It will consider real-life examples and make this more meaningful and relevant by inviting participants to bring their own examples of equality challenges in school. We will show you how to get the best out of CSIE’s toolkit ‘Equality: Making It Happen’ – a succinct and user-friendly set of reference cards to help schools promote equality – and leave you with at least two complimentary copies. Above all, the workshop will help develop a shared understanding and build a consistent response to diversity and equality. We understand that all schools are at different stages of this journey, so this workshop will assist you in determining next steps and areas of specific focus for your setting. What will the workshop cover? The workshop will: provide an overview of the Equality Act 2010, including the Public Sector Equality Duty and what it means for all schools bring awareness to unconscious bias and how it can influence our interactions present strategies for removing barriers to learning and participation address intersectionality and how it affects people’s experiences help develop confidence and language for discussing sensitive equality issues add flesh to the bones of all the above, by considering real-life examples Who is it for? The workshop has been designed for all primary and secondary school staff and governors; delivery is adjusted to the context of each school. We encourage all teaching and non-teaching staff to attend, so that your school can develop a coherent and consistent response to diversity and equality. Start by learning to read a commercial dressmaking pattern, adjusting it to your own unique measurements, and then learn to sew up your garment. The class has a maximum of 4 people in it so you get tons of one to one support, and you will learn a lot! This is a really comprehensive introduction to learning to make your own clothes. It is a small class and nicely paced so you will be able to ask all the questions and really delve quite deep into it all. Most of my past students now regulary make their own clothes! I am passionate about teaching people about fit and we will talk about dart manipulation, bust adjustments, neckline and sleeve adjustments etc. We usually all work from the same pattern but if you want to make something else because you, for example, don't wear dresses, I am very flexible.

The landscape is rugged but beautiful with high mountains, flowing rivers and large lakes. Based around Capel Curig in the National Park we will visit some hidden treasures, lakes, mountains, quarries and iconic vistas.A Snowdonia photography workshop and photo walk in Cwm Idwal amidst the Glyderau and Carneddau mountain ranges, the glacial lakes of Llyn Idwal and Llyn Ogwen and the impressive Ogwen Falls. A workshop for beginners or anyone looking to further develop their landscape photography.Course content includes camera controls, use of filters, gear choice, advice on composition. The workshop involves walking to different viewpoints within Cwm Idwal on rocky, uneven paths and an ascent of 300ft to a viewpoint above the lake so a good level of fitness and mobility is required. Due to the terrain unfortunately the workshop is unsuitable for those with limited mobility.What do you need to bring with you?Camera/lenses/Spare memory card/batteries/tripod - A digital camera with "semi-automatic/manual" controls (Aperture and Shutter priority) is recommended to get the most from the course. Filters (if you have them) A packed lunch/snacks The relevant user manual for your camera Warm/waterproof clothing and suitable footwear - weather can be unpredictable all year round in Snowdonia. A notepad and pen What happens in bad weather?I monitor weather forecasts and if conditions are predicted to be completely unsuitable, to ensure both your safety and enjoyment of the day, it may be necessary to cancel a workshop. I will endeavour to provide at least 24hrs notice, although this cannot always be guaranteed; you will be offered either a full refund or a place on a future course.
