We pride ourselves in our professional, caring approach to dance training and education with expert tuition from RAD and I.S.T.D. qualified teachers, Southside Dance offers truly comprehensive dance training for all ages and abilities. We offer instruction in a wide range of dance styles to children of all ages as well as a series of adult dance and fitness classes. Children have the opportunity to enter I.S.T.D. recognised examinations as well as perform in school shows.

The Edinburgh Chinese Community School was established in September 2000. With the charitable support of our friends and parents of our students, the school has been thriving and has been providing high quality Chinese education for the local Scottish community ever since. Apart from the Cantonese & Mandarin language classes for children, there are also arts & culture classes, such as learning the Chinese musical instruments of Guzheng and Erhu, Chinese traditional dance, recital of poems and drawing for those interested. Our language classes run from primary one to SQA exam level classes. We also run adult Mandarin, Erhu, Guzheng, Dance, and Tai Chi classes. Making Waves Swimming Lessons

When a child comes along to their first swimming lesson at Making Waves, we will meet you at reception and give your child a card to give to the coordinator at poolside. This identifies your child as a new swimmer at Making Waves. Please watch our walk round tour video before coming along, as this has lots of small instructions to help your first class go swimmingly. It is important that you, as the adult, do not go onto poolside. There is a cafe with full viewing access and a coordinator on hand to help with any queries. We ask that children remain dry until they are in the pool, for two reasons. Children can get cold standing wet, no matter how warm the facility is, and they are more likely to fall if they have wet feet. We will assist your child to get into the water and onto a platform, where they will be supervised by a lifeguard. When it is their turn to swim, we will ask them to step off the platform and will pick them up again.

Looking for more than just a fitness class or a self defence class? Training with the Oriental Martial Arts Society will not only get you fit through training but, you will learn to develop internally as well as externally. I teach techniques from Bagua, Hsing I and Wudang. Each of these styles have important parts to play in developing body and mind making you a stronger person - good tools to draw on in any situation life may throw at you both physically and mentally. Although based in traditional roots, these have been adapted for a modern approach. Adult classes are open to men and women from 18 years. Classes are being held at Newtongrange Leisure Centre on Saturdays 11am to 12.30pm and on Wednesdays at St Leonards Church Hall, Bonnyrigg 6.45pm to 8.15pm. Class fee is £10 per session. Join and see what potential you could personally achieve. You don't have to be fit to join - this comes naturally through training rather than a rigid exercise regime. If you want to be able to look after yourself, this is for you.

Coaching is overseen and delivered by Michael Millar and Finn Mclean, a pair of highly regarded and LTA Accredited tennis coaches who between them have a wealth of experience working with a range of players including complete beginners, club standard, county level, national level and ITF world ranked. Michael and Finn are supported by a close-knit team of coaches who are knowledgeable and qualified but also, most importantly, passionate about tennis and teaching.
