The First Aid at Work qualification is the most comprehensive of all our first aid qualifications, and covers a wide range of skills which can be used within a workplace first aid situation, including: assessing the scene, managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, heart attacks, choking, head and spinal injuries, fractures, anaphylaxis, plus much more.

Learners will gain the knowledge, skills and competences needed to deal with a wide range of pre-hospital care emergencies, such as: managing a patient’s airways, catastrophic bleeding, management of fractures, medical emergencies and more. Endorsed by The Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care – The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and fulfilling the competencies set out in the PHEM skills framework at descriptor level D, this fantastic qualification is perfect for a range of roles in emergency care, such as: Ambulance Care Assistant (PTS), Community First Responder or Event First Responder and more. Learners must be at least 17 years old on the first day of training. Learners must hold a valid in date FREC3 certificate. The Learner needs to retake the qualification before the certificate expiry date to remain qualified. This qualification is for people who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities to provide prehospital care to patients requiring emergency care/treatment. It is ideal for those looking to progress their careers within the emergency services, ambulance services, healthcare settings and supports specialist medical roles within law enforcement and security, energy and utilities, construction and military. 

Duration 3 Days Validity 3 years Course Overview The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (FREC) Requalification is a nationally recognised course designed for individuals who currently hold a valid FREC Level 3 certificate and need to renew their qualification. This course is ideal for those working in emergency services, event medical sectors, and high-risk environments who want to maintain their competency in providing life-saving care during emergency situations. Learners will refresh their knowledge and skills in key areas of emergency care, ensuring they are up to date with current best practices and legal requirements. Upon successful completion, participants will be requalified to deliver first response emergency care in various professional roles, including Event Medical Responders. What’s Covered Refreshing roles and responsibilities of a First Responder Conducting comprehensive patient assessments Updated adult, child, and infant CPR & AED usage Managing airways, including the use of suction and airway adjuncts Administering first aid for medical emergencies (e.g., asthma, diabetes, and seizures) Handling traumatic injuries, including fractures, dislocations, and spinal injuries Managing catastrophic bleeding with tourniquets and haemostatic dressings Administering emergency oxygen Treating shock, chest injuries, and burns Managing unconscious casualties Reviewing incident reporting and legal responsibilities Entry Requirements Participants must hold a valid Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (FREC) certificate that is within the allowed requalification period. There are no additional formal entry requirements, though learners are expected to have prior experience in emergency care. Course Information Venue: All our 'Open' courses are delivered from our dedicated training venue: Pulse South Coast Ltd, Bentley Wildfowl, Harveys Lane, Ringmer, BN8 5AF On occasion we may use a separate venue, this will be advised on the course booking. Facilities: On your course you will be provided with tea & coffee making facilities and biscuits. We are in a rural location so we recommend brining lunch with you on the day. There is a microwave & fridge on site for your use. There is a garage that is approximately a 10 minute drive from our venue. Parking: We have a dedicated car park that is approximately a 300m walk to the training venue. There is no additional cost to use this parking. What is required from you: All courses are delivered in English, you must have a basic understanding of the English language to attend. There is a requirement for you to show that you are capable of performing the skills you are taught on the course, due to this you will need to be physically able to demonstrate all practical elements of the course. Dress: As a company we pride ourselves on running immersive & practical training courses. You will often be expected to kneel & work outdoors, please dress appropriately. Identification: As we deliver Ofqual accredited courses, there is a requirement for you to show a form of ID on the first day of the course. This could be; a driving license, passport or something that clearly shows who you are. Timings: All of our courses have a minimum training time of six hours a day, we will often advertise a course as seven hours to include break times. On occasion it is required to go over the scheduled times, however this will always be discussed with the group on the day. Trainer: During your course you will have a designated trainer for the duration. They are there not only to assess for the qualification, but to offer you guidance and support throughout.
