The skills taught on the HEAT course are taken to the next level by training delegates how to deal with more complex levels of medical conditions and trauma first aid training coupled with practical training in the use of advanced medical equipment and techniques. In line with all of our benchmark courses HEFAT ensures that travellers from all backgrounds are prepared for the widest possible threat levels across the widest field of environments and situations. Delegates leave aware of potential risks and confident that they have the skills and knowledge to deal with immediate and developing situations. This one-day Suicide First Aid training course gives learners the knowledge and tools to understand that suicide is one of the most preventable deaths and some basic skills can help someone with thoughts of suicide stay safe from their thoughts and stay alive.

This refresher course provides first aiders with an opportunity to practice and update their skills as a qualified first aider, at any time while their first aid certificate is valid. This course does not renew your qualification, it is for practice and refreshing skills only.

First Aid at Work is a 3 day course 1 day is delivered on line. If you are already qualified just choose the 2 day option to requalify and you skip the online element. The course is suitable for people who work in high risk workplaces and covers the worst case scenarios and some of the more common minor stuff and goes on to cover common injuries and conditions a first aider might come accross. Initial training: 1 day online learning 2 days in the Splat classroom. Initial training is a BLENDED course meaning that 6 hours of work must be completed online BEFORE the start of the course. Without this completed online element delegates will not be able to attend training and places cannot be refunded. Registration for the online element will be sent separately when booking is complete. Requalifier: If you have a **current First Aid at Work Certificate** you need only attend the 2 classroom days. You can choose this option at booking. First Aid Training at Splat is relaxed and enjoyable. We aim to help you learn and support you to get what you need from the day. There are some practical and some multiple-choice assessments but our job is to ensure you have everything you need to pass these easily. Please note that First Aid can be quite physical, you will need to be able to kneel on the floor to perform CPR and Recovery Position. Please wear comfortable clothing you can move around in, and, if possible, please let us know ahead of time if there is anything we can do to help support you and your enjoyment of the day.

Three Hour Course Cost:  £50 + vat per person Catastrophic Bleeding is an excellent course designed for First Aiders who are involved in high-risk working environments. This 3-hour course will provide learners with guidance on Catastrophic Bleeding control, including dealing with the inherent dangers associated with the use of tourniquets and haemostatic dressings whilst administering First Aid in a high-risk working environment. Learners must hold a valid First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate in order to attend the course. SYLLABUS A range of subjects is covered including:   Equipment Primary survey Catastrophic bleeding Haemostatic dressings Tourniquets Top-to-toe survey Environmental issues Handover to the emergency services Maximum of 16 People A maximum of 16 students can be accommodated on this course. Age limit learners must be a minimum of 16 years of age to attend the course. CERTIFICATION Although there is no formal assessment, the trainer will assess each individual throughout the course and issue a non-regulated Certificate of Achievement where the required level of attainment has been met. Where a workplace First Aid Risk Assessment identifies a need for a First Aider in the Workplace. This accredited Three-Day Qualification will give the participants a qualification to the highest level of First Aid, meeting the statutory requirements of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982. The Certificate is valid for 3 years and will expire from the date on the certificate.
