When there is a shooting, stabbing or bomb explosion the initial priority will be public safety. This can delay the time before the emergency services are able to reach the injured. Our 3 hour citizenAID course enables the general public to be effective in these situations before the emergency services are available to provide professional medical support. This course can be delivered on-site or at our training centre in Poole, Dorset. Qualification Information This qualification and learning outcomes are based on the blended recommendations of: European Resuscitation Council, Section 9. First Aid British Army, Battlefield Casualty Drills Course Content Following this course students will: Be able to use the citizenAID app/pocket guide in an emergency situation. Be able to provide immediate first aid to an unresponsive casualty who is breathing. Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with severe external bleeding. Who should attend? This qualification is for all members of the public who wish to learn lifesaving skills and techniques in the event of a deliberate multiple casualty incident. Pre-requisites Students must be at least 14 years old on the first day of training. Assessment and Certifications Assessment of this course is continuous and will take place through knowledge and skills observations. Successful students will receive an Immerse Training Certificate, which is valid for three years. This certificate will be issued by Qualsafe, the awarding body for Immerse Training. The five day National Vocational Beach Lifeguard Qualification (NVBLQ) will provide the learner with the knowledge and skills required in order to provide professional patrolling and water services, in surf conditions, with rescue skills and advanced fitness requirements. Many aspects of the course are physically demanding and WILL include running, swimming to set times and some lifting. This award is comprised of a variety of units and all must be successfully passed to attain the qualification.

Course Summary Mini Medics - First Aid The Mini Medics courses is a Child friendly introduction to first aid and defibrillation aimed at children between the ages of 8 and 11, but it can suit children of any age from about 5 upwards. The course is kept at a basic level with no use of confusing terminologies. The mini medics course will show complete respect for the child’s ability, make it educational and practical, and instil the importance of helping someone who is poorly or injured. The 3 day Surf Coach Safety and Rescue Award establishes a standard that demonstrates the level of competence in lifesaving to meet the needs of becoming and operating as a Surf Coach. The course is physically demanding and will include swimming to set times and lifting. The Surf Coach Safety and Rescue Award is comprised of a variety of units and all must be successfully passed to attain the qualification.

The Emergency Lighting BS 5266 one day course is based upon BS5266:1 (including latest amendments), BS5266:7 and BS5266:8. Emergency lighting is essential for the safety of building occupants. It is vital that the emergency lighting automatically operates in the event of normal lighting failure. The illumination levels and period of time the illumination can be sustained should be sufficient to allow the building occupants to evacuate safely and locate both fire alarm, fire fighting and first aid equipment. The Emergency Lighting BS 5266 course provides the necessary information to designate emergency escape routes and design and commission an emergency lighting scheme to BS 5266. The morning of the Emergency Lighting BS 5266 course is spent reading through and interpreting the relevant parts of BS 5266. The afternoon takes the form of a practical workshop where a system is designed and the participant is then introduced to the practical issues of commissioning, inspection and testing, certification and reporting.

Basic Life Support Qualification Four Hours Cost:  £40 + vat per person A maximum of 12 students can be accommodated on this course, and all candidates must be a minimum of 14 years of age to qualify. SYLLABUS This regulated Level 2 Basic Life Support qualification will give learners the skills, knowledge and practical competence to administer First Aid until Professional Medical help arrives. The learner will need to complete the full course again to qualify for a further three years. It is recommended that the learner attends annual refresher training.
