Fused Glass Workshop – Set of Trinket Dishes I want to share my 15+ years of experience with you. This fused glass workshop is held at my Derbyshire studio and gallery space in the middle of Wirksworth near Matlock. About this fused glass workshop Create a set of 3 mini dishes, a perfect size for a tealight candle or to store your earrings and rings. Make for yourself of to give as gifts. Explore two different design/construction processes and use precut tiles, rods and frit balls to create your designs. Can’t make the workshop? Still want to make your own fused glass dishes, check out my simplified (but still sparkly) make at home kit. Explore a little in this short fused glass taster workshop and learn a little about how the kiln firing to 800 degrees c changes the raw/pointy pieces of glass to a have smooth, shiny finish. Simply complete your designs during the session and leave them with me at the studio for me to fire twice, once flat and once into the bowl mould. We will make arrangements to pick up a few weeks later or I can post your finished piece at cost. I will talk through all the Health & Safety in the session but I want you to know now, you will be handling precut glass pieces, they have pointy ends but with the right handling, they won’t hurt you. Recommended for ages 10 and above, all under 16s to be accompanied by a paying adult. Fused Glass Workshop – Flower Garden Designs I want to share my 15+ years of experience with you. About this fused glass workshop Whether you create a design inspired by wild flower gardens, fields of Poppies, a layer of Bluebells or hills covered in Heather you’ll enjoy playing with glass shapes and textures to create your own abstract and colourful creation. Choose from 3 options of pre cut glass bases and create either a bowl, sculptural wave or hanging panel. Round Bowl – approx. 17cm. Wave – approx. 32cm across x 7 tall. Round Hanging – approx. 18cm Get making by snapping glass rods, sprinkling crushed glass frit and place frit balls for your colourful flower blooms. The main thing to remember is to have fun! Situated in Golborne, near Warrington, St Helens and Wigan, with easy motorway access for the Northwest UK. Approx 20 miles from Manchester and Liverpool.

Have you always wanted to have a go at a Pottery class? Unsure if you want to commit to a pottery course or workshop. These taster sessions will give a you a brilliant opportunity to get your hands a bit mucky and learn a little bit about how clay works. We will complete a small easy beginners project, by hand, in a couple of hours. ( projects will vary dependant on different class facilitators) Hopefully you’ll go away feeling inspired and confident in your decision to join a course or full workshop with us. Your small project will be left with us for the glazing and kiln firing process, ready to collect in approx 3-4wks. 8 Week pottery course for beginners specialising in pottery wheel techniques

At Clay With Carole we offer group classes for all ages and abilities in hand building in clay. During this thorough and enjoyable 6-week evening course you will learn how to prepare your clay, and the main methods of hand building. You will be introduced to a variety of decorating techniques, ceramic materials and glazing. Each week you will make your original pieces using a different technique of hand building and through the duration of the course you can experiment with decorating techniques, application of ceramic materials, and a range of glazes.

Join us for a hands-on workshop where you will learn the basics of silver clay work. You will practice rolling, cutting, adding texture, firing and finishing your pieces. You will leave with a greater understanding of the process and the confidence to continue working with this exciting material at home. You'll leave with a finished piece of jewellery that you can wear proudly or give as a gift! There's nothing quite like making something yourself—and when you do it with silver clay, the process is even more exciting because of how versatile it is. You can create anything from simple charms to elaborate necklaces and earrings. Once you've learned this process, you'll be able to do it at home whenever inspiration strikes!
