Rooted in the liberatory essence of yoga, this practice invites you to engage beyond the mat. 

Together, we explore yogic philosophy, ethics and lifestyle — honouring the sacred South Asian and Indigenous lineages that shaped yoga as a path of resistance, healing, and spiritual transformation.

The Refrigeration Electrics 1 day course is aimed at anyone involved with refrigeration, air conditioning &amp; heat pumps electrical control systems The course covers the three elements which are common to most refrigeration and air conditioning systems: protection, control, and motors. A typical refrigeration system will have protection provided by the fuse in the fused connection unit, further protection provided to the cable feeding the fused unit – probably by a circuit breaker, control provided by thermostat/time clock, etc, motor driven fans, pump &amp; compressor. The aim of the course is to provide enough knowledge to allow maintenance and fault finding to be carried out safely and effectively.

M03 - Specialised and Advanced Phlebotomy Equipment:
The centrifuge - overview. Safe operation and use. Managing a centrifuge breakage or spillage.

Patients with special needs and requiring specific attention.
Equipment preparation for blood samples that are collected at
0 degrees, 37 degrees C and other non-standard conditions.

Drawing blood from back of hand. Drawing blood from lower limb veins. Managing the unwilling or difficult patient. Managing the psychiatric patient. Managing the isolated patient. M08 - Special Tests and Sample Handling Procedures:
A look at sample collection at specific times of day and night,
samples that are protected from light, collected on ice and
collected at body temperature. Procedures for each group - collection notes, analytic time, optimal collection time and notes for each group.
M09 - Advanced Phlebotomy Tasks:
Additional procedures. Maintaining POC equipment. Stock control and stock rotation. Quality control. Data entry. Product evaluation. Training and competency evaluation.
M10 - Alternative Environments:
A step-by-step look at non-clinical phlebotomy environments including private testing, DEFRA, forensic and police, cord blood collection, DNA analysis, veterinary services, overseas and volunteering.

2 - Syringe and Needle (open system): Correct use and applications.
3 - Monovette (open and closed systems):
Using the Monovette system in aspiration mode - correct use and applications.
Using the Monovette system in evacuated mode - correct use and applications.
4 - IR Vein Detector:
Demonstration of the IR vein detector for assisting in detection of difficult veins.
5 - Veins in back of hand:
Detecting suitable veins in the back of the hand.
6 - POC testing:
Point of Care Testing - use of glucose meter to demonstrate a typical POC test procedure. Correct use and overview of other POC test devices.
7 - Using lancets (finger collection)
We look at the correct use of lancets for POC testing and whole blood micro-collection.
8 - Using lancets (heel collection)
We look at the correct use of lancets for neonatal blood spot tests (Guthrie Test).
9 - Capillary collection
Using glass capillary tubes for micro-collection. Correct use and handling.
10 - Microtube collection
Correct use of BD Microtainers (and similar micro-collection bottles) - collection and handling.

Course Summary

A five day Refrigeration Electrics Maintenance course aimed at anyone involved with refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump electrical control systems. The Refrigeration Electrics Maintenance course covers the three elements which are common to most refrigeration and air conditioning systems, namely, protection, control and motors. For example, a typical air conditioning split system will have protection provided by the fuse in the fused connection unit, and further protection provided to the cable feeding the fused connection unit, probably by a circuit breaker, control provided by thermostat and time clock etc… and motor driven fans and compressor. During the Refrigeration Electrics Maintenance course emphasis is also placed upon the applicable wiring regulations to ensure the constructed system is compliant with BS7671:2018 The aim of the Refrigeration Electrics Maintenance course is to provide enough knowledge to allow maintenance and fault finding to be safely and effectively carried out. This End of Life (Palliative Care) Course covers the issues and practices involved in caring for the terminally ill and is suitable for both healthcare professionals and individuals looking at optimising their care skills and practices.This course will help you to gain a better knowledge of the procedures and best practices which underpins end of life care. It will help you to learn about the delivery of optimal end of life care and improve your communication skills to strengthen working relationships with healthcare professionals during this period. You will also feel you have a much better understanding on how to support the friends and family of the person that you are caring for.In this online course, you will learn to address the ethical issues and characteristics of hospice and palliative care. You will also understand the assessment and management of pain. And you will be able to help patients and their families cope with dying, death, and the grief that follows and, in doing so, will ensure that the process is in the very best interests of the individual concerned.If you are an individual looking after a terminally ill relative this course bridges the divide between understanding how healthcare professionals work and understanding how your relative or friend should be managed by your support team.This course can also be combined with our&nbsp;Healthcare Practice (Fundamental Care Skills) Course&nbsp;which will also prepare you with a general and very solid foundation qualification in healthcare. Both qualifications combined will give you a total of 6 credits which you can also use towards other future qualifications (at many UK Colleges and Universities).Once completed you will immediately be able to download your pass certificate. (Your new accredited certificate will be posted to you within 6-8 weeks.)The nationally recognised and accredited certificate (awarded by the Open College Network) can be added to your existing certificate credit value (cumulative credits), and these may also count towards other similar college or university courses.This course will perfectly supplement any medical or nursing course, however specific, and is open to anyone.
