About this Training Course
Comprising 5 full-day sessions, this intermediate to advanced level course is specifically designed for senior exploration geoscientists currently active in hydrocarbon play and prospect mapping, to optimise conceptual geological input into their technical evaluation.
The course focuses on seismic stratigraphic analysis in different basin settings – i.e., passive, convergent, extension and oblique – in order to construct a coherent geological story line, underpinning hydrocarbon play and prospect evaluation.
The course is largely based on seismic stratigraphic case histories and exercises, with the support of seismic, well log and outcrop examples.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES
Through short, focused presentations and a series of industry case history-based examples and exercises, participants will learn to optimise conceptual geoscience input into technical subsurface analysis. This will help to produce coherent geological subsurface interpretations for use in Play-based, Prospect and Appraisal evaluations.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This course is intended for senior geoscientists with more than five years of work experience, with a background in play and/or prospect evaluation and experience in seismic interpretation.

Auditing in the Exploration & Production (E&P) Industry Level 1

The EMMETT Technique Practitioner training is designed for qualified medical professionals and complementary therapists interested in extending their skills. All practitioners are encouraged to enhance their existing practice by integrating the EMMETT Technique with their prior training. Exercise specialists such as Pilates instructors, yoga teachers and personal trainers and coaches are also very attracted to this course. Undergraduates and non-therapists are also welcome to attend as there are no pre-requisites.
The course is divided into two-day learning blocks, called Modules, with 6 Modules in total across 11 days. Material covered in the previous Module is reviewed before new work is covered. This ensures that all participants are up to date and ready to learn new material. Modules 1&2 are one day each in duration and always taught as a two-day block. The total course therefore consists of 11 days.
This course is accredited by the Complementary Health Professionals (CHP).

What will I learn?
You will learn how to apply the EMMETT Technique and how it was developed. You will learn to quickly and effectively assess the areas of tension in your client’s body and how to locate the appropriate EMMETT point requiring desensitisation. Participants typically comment on how much their anatomy knowledge and understanding deepens as they progress through the course. The following areas of the body are focused on as these are commonly presented by clients: core muscles, lower back, thoracic back, shoulders, neck, arms including grip, legs and feet including balance, and breathing, and less frequent symptoms such as deep seated abdominal and lower body dis-ease. You will also learn about the “Chameleon Approach” that makes EMMETT so powerful. This includes special language skills and how to apply anchors to promote positive outcomes. Read the full Syllabus.
How will I be assessed?
Students are supervised during practice sessions and extra assistance will be offered where required, so all students will become competent and confident with the moves. Each move will be revised at least once within the context of the training sessions. A written and practical assessment is offered at the final stage of training at Module 6 Review and a Certificate of Proficiency will be awarded when a pass is achieved. This qualifies the participant as an EMMETT Technique Practitioner. Assessment is optional. A Certificate of Attendance is provided where the student chooses not to be accessed. Although there is no stated number of case study hours required students are encouraged to record their experiences in a reflective-learning journal and ask questions which can be shared and raised at the following module.
Is there a requirement to attend EMMETT CPD?
Once a student has achieved EMMETT Technique Practitioner status, their basic business contact information is listed on this website as a Practitioner so the general public can search for a local practitioner. To remain listed on the website, the Practitioner is required to attend 8 hours of EMMETT training within a 12 month period from July 1 – June 30 of the following year. The CPD hours are optional and are only required for continued website listing.
Will I be able to use EMMETT with my current therapy?
Definitely, for sure, absolutely!!! Students are encouraged to incorporate the EMMETT Technique with their current skills and not “throw the baby out with the bath water”, thereby enhancing the value of their existing skills. One of the benefits of the EMMETT Technique is that it provides therapists with complete freedom to integrate the technique with what they know or, under certain circumstances, to use it exclusively.
How does it differ from the Bowen Technique?
Despite the similarities between Tom Bowen and Ross Emmett, the EMMETT Technique is NOT a Bowen Therapy nor a derivation of it. Developed long before Ross was introduced to Bowen Therapy, the EMMETT Technique is a unique form of body therapy. There is no skin slack; there are no prescribed procedures and only a few set sequences; instead therapists are encouraged to respond to the client moment by moment. The EMMETT Technique uses quick assessments, specific language and other anchors to encourage positive change. Overwhelming feedback from Bowen Therapists is that the EMMETT Technique has transformed their practice; in particular the speed with which they can effect change for their clients, dramatically improving their results and professional reputation.
Can I use the EMMETT training days as Continued Professional Development?
This will depend on which professional body you are a member of. Contact your own association and enquire whether you will be allowed to claim CPD. EMMETT Therapies UK is happy to help by providing them with information about the course for them to evaluate.

Each two day Practitioner course is charged at GBP 340 . The non-refundable element is GBP 50.
Each one day Practitioner course is charged at GBP 170. The non-refundable element is GBP 50.
When a student chooses to repeat a Module, having already taken and reviewed it, they may repeat any individual Module or any individual day for half price.
The course fees are applicable for both the EMMETT Technique Practitioner Course and the Advanced EMMETT training.
For workshops conducted in Ireland, Euro payments are accepted to the equivalent GBP value.
Course dates and venues are subject to change. Please keep this in mind when booking transport and accommodation.
Refund and Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made up to 21 days prior to a workshop will receive a full refund (minus the non-refundable element). Cancellation fees will be calculated at 50% of the course fee if cancellations occur within 20 – 2 days (48 hours) of a workshop. No refund will be given for cancellations within 48 hours of a workshop.

Advanced Training
EP1 - EP6 Workshops
Additional EMMETT Technique training is offered to those who have achieved EMMETT Practitioner status. These “advanced” workshops really take the EMMETT Technique to a whole new level. The releases taught are the developments Ross has made since first putting together the Modular course.
There are 6 levels of EMMETT Professional (EP) training: EP1 – EP6. EP’s are generally scheduled with an interval of 2 – 4 months. At EP6 a written and practical assessment is offered and a Certificate of Proficiency awarded when a pass is achieved. This qualifies the participant as an Advanced EMMETT Technique Practitioner.
Assessment is optional. A Certificate of Attendance is provided where the participant is not assessed. EP workshops are attended in numerical order.
Advanced Lymphatics Workshop
This 2 day course aims to give a more focused approach to the Lymphatic drainage sequence as it has a major influence on the functioning of all body systems including the nervous, muscular, lymphatic, digestive and immune systems. Prerequisite is EP1.
Pelvic Care
This 2 day course teaches and describes corrections to assist pelvic problems with special issues. The course provides therapists with an understanding of the special needs of men and women of all ages and of possible assistance they may be able to provide within the scope of the Emmett Technique. Prerequisite is EP3.

EMMETT Practitioner Days
These two new courses are aimed at those of you who want more from your CPD than re-attending a course that you have already done.
The Practitioner days are two courses that are carefully crafted to include most of the moves from Modules 1-6 over two separate days and split between the upper body and lower body.
Each practise session will begin with a case study scenario followed by a group discussion. The group will suggest appropriate moves and discuss the rationale behind the thought process, before a practise of a pre-planned sequence. We have done this so we can review as many releases as we can during the day.
The moves suggested will be discussed to remind everyone of indications, assessments and validity. We believe this will be a great additional learning resource for everyone as well as allow you to practise a large number of the moves from modules 1 to 6. It’s also a development on from the Client Clinic Day.

About this Training Course
This 5-day course covers the theory and application of sedimentology and depositional environments of deepwater deposits. The course comprises an extensive series of topic-related modules, with provision to include workshops on the participants’ datasets. The course can be concluded with a multiple-choice test.
A good understanding of how depositional processes control the distribution of deepwater reservoir and non-reservoir rocks in the subsurface is of fundamental importance to sound E&P decision making. This applies throughout a field’s lifecycle, all the way from the exploration phase, through appraisal, field development and finally, field abandonment.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES
By the end of this 5-day course, the participants will learn the following: For geoscientists to acquire a sound understanding of:
The processes that transport sediment (both clastics and carbonates) from the shelf region to the deep sea
A sound understanding of the spatial patterns in sediment characteristics in 2-D & 3-D of the resulting deposits
How these spatial variations translate into different reservoir characteristics and the implications for e.g., petrophysical characteristics and/or fluid flow behaviour
The role and significance of sea level change as a control on the formation of deepwater depositional systems (both clastics & carbonates)
The distinction between ‘deepwater’ reservoirs in a geological sense and ‘deepwater’ in a field development sense.

He has extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of contract drafting, contract negotiations, contract/procurement management, project finance, risk management, outsourcing contracts, international commercial contracts, proposal writing, statement of work (SOW) drafting and vendor management. He has to-date conducted more than 200+ corporate training courses.
He previously worked for MB holding LLC, Muscat Oman from 2003 to 2006, an Omani multinational company and was involved in advising and vetting transaction documents of value US$ 40 million with International Finance Corporation (IFC)). He gained international experience while working with MB and has travelled widely to countries like Malaysia, Norway, U.K, U.A.E, Qatar, Kuwait Yemen, Bahrain, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
He was Legal Counsel for Schlumberger in 2006 to 2008 and has extensive experience dealing with tender, bids, proposals, RFP, RFQ, ITB and other contract documents. In course of his employment with Schlumberger he was involved in several high-ticket contracts to the value of one billion US$. His last assignment was with Damac Holding LLC (Dubai) and Petrofac International (Sharjah) as Legal Manager and Advisor.

Training Method – Scenario Based Learning
Learning centers around highly realistic E&P company scenarios.
A computer-based simulation is used to plan, record and report the progress of your company through several years of international E&P activities.
Teams of 2 – 3 people participate in the financial management of these activities, including Operator and Non-operator accounting, recording of transactions, updating of financial statements and analysis of results.
The highly interactive laptop-based scenario approach will enable you to follow the impact of each activity from initiation through to final results and analysis of company performance. You will need to bring with you to the course your own laptop PC with MS Excel™ pre-installed. Prior knowledge of spreadsheet techniques is assumed. Trainer will provide various Excel files which participants may retain at the end of the course.

She also likes character-driven fantasy with a diverse cast to root for (or root against) and she wants to see a range of different relationships depicted authentically. She particularly like epics that dip into big, universal themes such as grief, climate change, or war and which ask impossible questions in the vein of R.F. Kuang or N.K. Jemisin. She is also excited by authors that play with form and language in a fantasy setting.</span></p><p style="color: rgb(73, 73, 73); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;" fr-original-style=" color: rgb(73, 73, 73);"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); box-sizing: border-box;" fr-original-style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">In YA, she is looking for much the same as in an adult fantasy, but with younger protagonists and a closer focus on relationships. She wants to see the tropes she knows and loves in new and exciting forms and her favourite YA books often centre around belonging and becoming. LOOKING FOR: MG, YA AND ADULT SCI-FI / FANTASY, CHILDREN'S NON-FICTION

After graduating from St Andrews University with a degree in English Literature and Art History, Maddy followed her love of literature to an internship at non-fiction literary agency Graham Maw Christie. At GMC, Maddy worked her way up to Agent and built a list of authors who wrote for both for adults and children, spanning history, tarot, and nature writing. An avid reader of anything magical, Maddy joined Madeleine Milburn in 2022 to build a list specialising in SFF.

Maddy would like to see SFF across all genres for all ages, including: grim dark, thriller, historical, romance, cosy fantasy, sci-fi, epic, YA fantasy, dark academia, contemporary fantasy, fantasy middle-grade, mythology, fairy tale and queer fantasy. Inspiring children’s non-fiction.

She loves worlds to get lost in, adventures that transform what it means to be a hero, and unique magic that offers as many problems as solutions. She likes books that make her cry and books that change her mind. Above all, when she finishes a story about another world, she wants it to have taught her a lesson which helps her live in this one.

She loves all fantasy, but favours richly imagined, complex worlds with a history to discover and a future to protect. Worldbuilding is one of her favourite aspects of this genre and she is always looking for a new, dense world with series potential. Think Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere or the Marvel Cinematic Universe – the bigger the better! 

Maddy also likes character-driven fantasy with a diverse cast to root for (or root against) and she wants to see a range of different relationships depicted authentically. She particularly like epics that dip into big, universal themes such as grief, climate change, or war and which ask impossible questions in the vein of R.F. Kuang or N.K. Jemisin. She is also excited by authors that play with form and language in a fantasy setting.

In YA, she is looking for much the same as in an adult fantasy, but with younger protagonists and a closer focus on relationships. She wants to see the tropes she knows and loves in new and exciting forms and her favourite YA books often centre around belonging and becoming. She likes a dash of romance in everything, because she is sentimental that way, but it’s particularly important in the YA space.

Sci-fi is a big passion of hers, especially when it comes with a strong hook. She is a huge fan of Becky Chamber’s The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet and Michaiah Johnson’s The Space Between Worlds. She likes space as a metaphor, and would love something that explores different alien species. Please send her your space operas and sci-fi romances which combine space, magic and mayhem!

In fantasy middle grade, she favours whimsy and animal companions; she would love to follow a group of kids through magic school. She tends to look for plenty of humour with a strong friendship at the centre, and she wants middle grade stories which engage with the concerns of children growing up as well as offering an all-important escape (preferably on a dragon/unicorn’s back).

She is also looking for children’s non-fiction for all ages. In this space, she wants something as creative as it is informative, and thinks diverse voices are increasingly important.

Maddy would like you to submit a covering letter, one page synopsis and the first three chapters (Max 5000 words) of your completed manuscript in a single word document.

Seismic Stratigraphic Interpretation in Different Basin Settings (Passive, Extensional, Convergent & Oblique)

Value add and opportunistic property investments are complex both in their initial scope and their cash flow projections.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">This course will show delegates how to appraise projects in Excel, incorporate and communicate updates as they happen and ultimately understand how to convert an opportunistic property investment into a core asset that can be sold on.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">Residual models (profit &amp; site) are demonstrated first to illustrate the main components of any scheme and the traditional methods of evaluation such as profit on cost ratio, rental yield and interest cover. Development cash flows are then constructed in detail looking in particular at phased income as well as fixed, variable and incidental construction costs and their impact on the net cash flow. Additional performance metrics are calculated including geared IRR and return on equity.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">Development financing can be trickier than straightforward senior debt investment financing. This is because finance is often required in stages. The brought forward carried forward method demonstrated on the course, is the easiest way to deal with programmed debt drawdown functions and rolled-up interest.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">The assessment of project specific risk is arguably much more important in development schemes. Real Estate Development cash flows require greater skill and flexibility from Analysts, and an ability to work with simultaneously with project partners. Value add and opportunistic property investments are complex both in their initial scope and their cash flow projections.
This course will show delegates how to appraise projects in Excel, incorporate and communicate updates as they happen and ultimately understand how to convert an opportunistic property investment into a core asset that can be sold on.
Residual models (profit & site) are demonstrated first to illustrate the main components of any scheme and the traditional methods of evaluation such as profit on cost ratio, rental yield and interest cover. Development cash flows are then constructed in detail looking in particular at phased income as well as fixed, variable and incidental construction costs and their impact on the net cash flow. Additional performance metrics are calculated including geared IRR and return on equity.
Development financing can be trickier than straightforward senior debt investment financing. This is because finance is often required in stages. The brought forward carried forward method demonstrated on the course, is the easiest way to deal with programmed debt drawdown functions and rolled-up interest.
The assessment of project specific risk is arguably much more important in development schemes. Sensitivity analysis and scenario analysis are covered in the final section of the course.
