You will learn advanced soldering skills to create a tubular barrel and learn how to form a hardened snap catch.This technique will open your mind to other types of catches & clips. Peter will show you some other options and explain how they work.These specialist skills can be applied across other aspects of jewellery making. You NEVER stop learning as far as the jewellery industry is concerned and it is Peter’s passion to maintain traditional skill. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Students should have some workshop experience and be confident using normal jewellery tools and equipment. We have handouts for many demonstrations, but there are always many tips and tricks given verbally by the tutor, which some might like to keep note of. You will learn how to calculate your finger size, solder, form the metal, and texture and polish the silver to create your lovely stack of rings. You can decide on their design to create your own individual set. This is an excellent starting project for a beginner. For those with more experience, it is an opportunity to develop your skills further. The NVQ Level 3 is designed to provide both new entrants and those seeking progression in their career, with the opportunity to develop the necessary skills to carry out job roles and responsibilities associated with the installation and maintenance of Electrotechnical systems. There are two options to complete the NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations, these are the C&G 2346 and C&G 2357. Successful completion of the NVQ and AM2 assessment will satisfy the entry criteria for JIB accredited electricians

The EWR is for electricians who have been working in the industry for at least 5 years but have not formally completed an industry apprenticeship or Level 3 NVQ qualification. Bear in mind that the C&G 2391-50 and 18th Edition courses are pre-requisites to the Experienced Worker route. You are able to design and make a project of your choice, that may be a project with the aim to practice a certain skill, or maybe you are looking to make a special present, or create something you have always wanted to own, this class provides you with the tutor support, professional tools and a friendly, welcoming environment to make your own designs. This is for current term time or summer term time students only. You will have your very own solid jewellers workbench to work on to complete your projects and your own tool kit meaning you won’t have to wait for tools. Your bench is also equipped with its own pendant motor. In the workshop you will also find soldering equipment on each bench, a wide range of professional stone setting tools for various stone setting styles, a wide range of hand tools, texturing tools, a rolling mill, a hydraulic press, polishing equipment, dapping tools and punches, all of which will allow you the chance to create your designs within a professional setting. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: You must be enrolled on our term time class or summer term or have experience. CLASS SIZE: 7 WHAT IS INCLUDED?
