Throughout the phlebotomy training course for beginners, you will look at the theory behind phlebotomy and be allowed to develop your practical skill using the most up to date techniques and equipment. The course covers all of the competencies set out in CHS132 (National Occupational Standard for Phlebotomy). Once completed, you will have all of the skills and knowledge necessary to work as a phlebotomist. Course prerequisites This course is suitable for both medics and non-medics.  A minimum of 21 years of age Good command of English Able to learn independently Course structure You are required to complete an online study and eight practical hours onsite. All courses are kept intimate with six learners in a class. This is a certified course that teaches CPR, AED, First Aid, and Bleeding Control. The course includes bleeding control, including wound packing and tourniquet application. This course certifies for Adult, Child, and Infant CPR.

This QA Level 2 Award in citizenAID (RQF) course is a half-day course to teach the skills and knowledge needed in case one finds themselves in the middle of a terrorist attack. Three Hour Course Cost:  £50 + vat per person Catastrophic Bleeding is an excellent course designed for First Aiders who are involved in high-risk working environments. This 3-hour course will provide learners with guidance on Catastrophic Bleeding control, including dealing with the inherent dangers associated with the use of tourniquets and haemostatic dressings whilst administering First Aid in a high-risk working environment. Learners must hold a valid First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate in order to attend the course. SYLLABUS A range of subjects is covered including:   Equipment Primary survey Catastrophic bleeding Haemostatic dressings Tourniquets Top-to-toe survey Environmental issues Handover to the emergency services Maximum of 16 People A maximum of 16 students can be accommodated on this course. Age limit learners must be a minimum of 16 years of age to attend the course. CERTIFICATION Although there is no formal assessment, the trainer will assess each individual throughout the course and issue a non-regulated Certificate of Achievement where the required level of attainment has been met.
