Many people are interested in keeping chickens, but there is a lot of conflicting information. I have been keeping poultry for many years, and can help and advise on housing, breeds, brooding, cockerels, and feeding. Come along to my course to learn how best to keep your garden chooks happy and healthy. Topics covered include: Fox-proof coops and runs Sourcing your hens Handling your hens The importance of free ranging, and avian flu alternatives Feeding and healthy treats Eggs and breeding Cockerels and chicks What to do with chicken manure Pests, diseases, and natural supplements Quick discussion about ducks, quail, and geese This course is run at a mutually agreed date and time, and costs £35 per person, or £60 for two booking at the same time. Gift vouchers are available if you’d like to give this course as a present. We will spend most of the time looking at the hens in my garden, and there will be a handout with all the information we discuss as well as plenty of opportunity to ask questions. We will have fresh tea, cafetière coffee, herbal tea, and homemade cake during the break. Courses run from 2-3.30pm at my cottage in Hellingly.

Improving with stretch fabric - next steps with your overlocker / serger. Spend 3 hours playing with your overlocker to develop your knowledge and get to grips with Seaming, Flatlocking, Blind Hems, Pintucks, Lettuce edging, Rolled Hems and Complex fabric handling e.g. velvet/chiffon/spandex

Sterling Silver Bangle Workshop For Complete Beginners. A day to learn some basic silver jewellery making techniques and create your own bangles. Learn to use basic tools and techniques to form and texture, hammered or waved bangles to completion. Going home with beautifuly finished items of jewellery. The ticket price covers the cost of tuition and all precious and non precious practice materials. Whilst soldering experience is not necessary, a basic understanding of soldering and forming metal would be advantageous, enabling you more time to focus on your design. However, we practice simple soldering techniques, for those with little or no experience. To ensure that all abilities are catered for. On the day you will design and make gorgeous sterling silver bangles. You will be guided through a variety of techniques. You can choose from a variety of designs to make two bangles. You can choose to make hammered textures, using small specialised hammers. Twisted wire bangles. Waved or plain round bangles or a combination of two designs. If you wish, these can be joined together with a large jump ring. Price includes all precious materials, practice materials & instruction. We also include light refreshments of hot and cold drinks with plenty of cake and biscuits throughout the day. Please note, this ticket is your deposit and is non-refundable unless the event is cancelled. We reserve the right to cancel the event if we do not have a minimum of 3 people, in which case your payment will be fully refunded. To ensure the quality of your personal experience, the classes are limited to six people. You will have quality time to ask any questions you might have, and guided help along the way.
