The 1 Day Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work RQF qualification is tailored for smaller workplaces and for staff who work in low hazard environments. This 6 hour course is designed to train candidates in both theoretical and practical aspects of First Aid to the standard required by the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

The First Aid at Work (FAW) is the highest and most widely recognised first aid qualification.

This course is ideal for anyone working in childcare – The Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid will give you the knowledge to act with confidence and how to deal with emergency situations in a safe and appropriate manner. This course covers the more common illnesses that occur in children as well as the types of incidents and accidents that could happen.

The QCF approved qualification came into effect on 1st October 2013, along with new guidance on assessing the needs of First Aid in your workplace. Your risk assessments of First Aid needs may well identify the need for Emergency First Aiders at Work (EFAW) either as an addition to your First Aiders (3-day), or where your Company activities are low risk. A lot of our Clients have requested this course as extra cover when working on construction sites or similar works covered by the Principal Contractors trained site first aiders and for smaller works. Aims To give a basic knowledge to help you deal with any Emergency First Aid at Work. Course Content • Responsibilities and reporting • Assessment of the situation • Basic hygiene in First Aid • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty • Resuscitation and AED (defib) • Heart attacks • Bleeding • Minor injuries • Choking • Shock • Seizures. Prerequisites None - The course is intended either as an introduction or as a refresher. Assessment Delegates will be required to pass a multiple-choice test at the end of the training. (In addition, the HSE strongly recommend that all students undergo an annual refresher programme of about 3 hours, although this is not mandatory). Certificate On successful completion of the course, all delegates will receive a certificate of attendance. Instructions We regret that we may not be able to accept people onto a course who are more than 30 minutes late due to contact hours and the content that would be missed. The 2-hour Baby & Child First Aid class covers CPR, Choking, Bumps, Burns, Breaks, Bleeding, Febrile Seizures and Meningitis & Sepsis Awareness and will give everyone who attends the peace of mind they deserve.

The Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification, specifically designed for those wishing to act as an emergency first aider in their workplace. Throughout this 1 day course, learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations, including administering CPR, using a defibrillator, dealing with wounds and bleeding, minor injuries and more.
