Qualitative Face Fit Testing is a method for checking that a tight fitting facepiece matches an individual’s facial features and can provide an adequate seal to the wearer’s face. This Face Fit Train the Tester course will provide those who require it, the knowledge of how to conduct face fit testing using the Qualitative method. If you provide respiratory protective equipment (RPE) to your employees or are responsible for Health and Safety within your organisation, then it is essential that fit testing is carried out correctly and documentary evidence is recorded to demonstrate the RPE is suitable for the wearer and has passed a fit test. Please note: even though these training courses are referred to as "train the trainer" they are only to provide training to allow the attendees to conduct Qualitative face fit testing, not to enable them to teach the subject themselves. Aims The aim of the Face Fit Train the Tester course is to train people on how to conduct face fit testing so that they can carry out their own face fit tests to a high standard. Course Content • Background to Qualitative Face Fit Testing • Legislation and Guidance, HSE282/28 • Set-Up of Equipment • The Sensitivity Test • Fit Test Protocols • Pass Levels • Practical Face Fit Testing • Troubleshooting & Problem Solving • Fit Test Failures and Re-Tests • Planning & Managing a Fit Testing Program. Prerequisites None – The course is intended either as an introduction or as an update. Assessment Delegates will be required to complete a short multiple-choice test at the end of the training and will be assessed during the practical element of the training. Certificate This course is covered by certification and is valid for 3 years. Medication Management Train The Trainer Course Aim: To enable Managers and Senior Care Staff to confidently and competently deliver safe, effective, and engaging medication training to their care teams in accordance with best practice and regulatory requirements. Learning Objectives: By the end of this course, learners will be able to: Understand the legal and regulatory framework surrounding medication administration in care settings. Explain the principles of safe medication handling, including storage, administration, and record-keeping. Identify common types of medication errors and strategies to reduce risk. Demonstrate effective teaching techniques to deliver medication training to staff. Create and adapt medication training sessions tailored to the needs of their care team. Assess staff competency in medication management through observation and feedback. Use supporting documentation (e.g., MAR charts, audit tools) to reinforce safe practice. Recognise when to escalate concerns around medication errors or competency. Promote a positive learning culture around medication safety within their service.

Manual Handling full-day Train The Trainer course Aim of the course: To equip Team Leaders and Co-ordinators in Care Homes with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to deliver engaging and safe manual handling training to their own staff — including practical techniques, training methods, and peer teaching practice. Learning Objectives: By the end of this course, delegates will be able to: Outline the legal and professional responsibilities related to manual handling in care. Identify manual handling risks and describe common injuries and incidents. Demonstrate safe manual handling techniques, including hoist use, slide sheets, and repositioning methods. Plan and structure a complete manual handling training session. Select and adapt training materials and equipment to suit different learners and settings. Deliver clear, confident explanations and demonstrations of manual handling techniques. Support learners during practical sessions, including correcting unsafe practice. Facilitate discussions and reflective learning with care staff. Evaluate learners’ understanding and performance through observation and questioning. Maintain accurate training records and identify when refresher training is needed. Deliver a short theoretical and practical training activity to peers, receiving feedback. Reflect on their own strengths and areas for development as a trainer.

Course overview Duration: 2 days (13 hours) This workshop is for people who want to take their personal skills as a trainer to the next level. It builds on the Underscore Level 1 Train the Trainer course.  In this Level 2 course delegates will develop more advanced training skills such as expert presentation, facilitation and coaching skills. In the modern world learning is often delivered in blended learning formats and this course will introduce delegates to the challenges of blended learning and how to introduce a range of delivery methods into programmes. Attendees will learn how to write more complex learning plans and integrate different methods and media into their plans.
